Fair point. There's also the same pish everytime Bazel (Basle etc) are in the CL. They're from the German-speaking part and say "Bah-zil" and spell it with a "z" - most Scottish commentators will pronounce it Bazel and spell it Basle whilst English commentators insist on pronouncing it "Bahl" like the wannabe Francophiles they all are.
I've wondered that. What a daft name for a team anyway. It's like calling your team "Merseyside Liverpool" or "Yorkshire Leeds". That gets on my tits too. "Barl"
I lived in Zurich for a couple of years. The Swiss Germans ****ing hate "German" and prefer if you speak English. In saying that, I'm not sure why we have to translate any teams or city's name. Is it because British people are too ***** to pronounce something in a nother language?
No. Most of them think everybody should speak English. This thread could soon cross over to the racism thread !
Northseacanal for Feyenoord Old Firm Green and Old Firm Blue in some of the older games - first ISS I played had no club teams, I don't think. There was a game for the Amiga - Goal, I think, where Celtic's away kit was blue. Shocking.
