It's hard to believe there was no red card involved there. It's only a few weeks since we beat Birmingham 5-2 (having switched off at 5-0) and got beaten 4-2 by Palace. It's some turnaround in performance from both sides.
Forest and Brighton drawing is the best result we could hope for in the circumstances, as we can still catch them. But we need to get it together, and both look better for their positions than we do.
I didn't watch the Huddersfield V "high risk" fans team. But I saw the teams and Beckford was substituted after 89 mins I can't work this one out If he was having a poor game then take him off earlier Of he was doing well keep him on Taking a forward off at 1-0 down seems weird The only thing I can think of is that he was injured Anyone got the answer?
They'd been trying to make the sub since the 81st minute but the dosy twat refereeing the game just ignored the fact that the player was stood there with the 4th official fully kitted and ready to go. They were also already playing 4 up front by this stage with Beckford, Vaughan, Gobern and Ward, as well as Scannell on the pitch so when they brought Robinson on it was a striker for a striker just to give fresh legs for a bit. He was cack for them, but the two subs they made earlier had been having even worse games so it was probably a case of giving him chance with a different midfield supplying him first. He definitely wasn't injured though, his run to get off the pitch to put his tracksuit on was the quickest he'd moved all game, and the fans around the dugout were giving him **** about his lack of effort as he came off.
Brighton only manage a draw Saturday will either make or break our season We lose its game over, we win then its back on A draw isnt good enough in our current state
I actually dont think a draw would be terrible Proud...we would be still just 2 points behind Brighton, then we have 2 home games to come and they have 2 away games (granted at Middlesborough & Peterborough) so they would do well to win them both. after these games there would only be 3 game left, it will go down to the wire I think, we just cannot afford to lose at Brighton. a win would be incredible.
I'm with Proud - Bolton are also hot on our heels and if we are not careful we will soon be relying on 'other results' and not be in control of our own destiny - we need to win ... end of.
So. No more Hull city fans posting on this thread for the duration of the season proper then; now that it's mathematical and all.....
And play each other in the semis... but I don't think we will, Watford's defeat tonight was massive for you.
And when you beat them next week even bigger! Hull City fans and Leicester City fans: best of mates......
It's particularly amusing if we draw on Friday, that would leave Leicester to knock Palace out of it on Saturday, and if Watford won or drew as well they could then promote us next Friday by taking points of them. (If Watford lost after we drew then you'd already have done it by beating Palace)
I expect Blackpool to give Bolton a tough game ... local derby and with Ince and Matt phillips Blackpool are very dangerous ... could see this being a draw ... the only problem is that then leaves us needing to win in te league at Forest ... something we have not done since I don't know when ... still records are there to be broken and it would add some sweetness to a bitterly disappointing season irrespoective of the Bolton result.
Forest would need a draw aslong as Blackpool beat Bolton by at least 4-0 which is unlikely Meaning its pretty much win at all cost for both teams Blackpool have got some very good players. Neal Eardley, Tom Ince, Matt Phillips, Alex Baptiste, Gary Taylor-Fletcher. Its all the managerial changes that cost them
