I am truly underwhelmed by us so far. Either Woodward has suddenly gained the sophistication I didn't think his IQ possessed and has managed to outfox all the press and keep our signings secret...or we're in for another long summer of bullshit rumours followed by a couple of over-inflated panic buys. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and wait to see what happens that first week of July otherwise my confidence will wane quickly.

Maybe it was all the hype during last season that we were going to buy loads of worldies here, there and everywhere, that's making me wonder wtf is going on with no news on anyone...except for Harry Kane for crying out loud <doh>

Depay is a good signing though but just like you I'd rather see us getting in the mix and moving quickly for targets, when you hear nothing it makes you wonder why not? The scouts will have already given data on targets, managers should already know weaknesses (half the team in our case).
 
I've got to assume we've got a couple in the bag. We must have, it's too quiet otherwise. In non tournament summers you've got to get new players in sharpish and give them a pre season.

Do mind me asking how you know Firminio is good? I'd never heard of him.

Just the usual Highlights shows and off course the one source of finding a great player in a 5 min vid called YouTube is there a better scouting system in the whole world? I don't think so.

In other words, non of us have the first ****ing clue how good he is.

Can't say I'm too chuffed to be going in for an unknown that we don't even need. I'd like to see positive news on a centre mid and a centre half. My hunch is we've got done deals in both slots but it is just a hunch.

Those being Schweinsteiger and Otamendi. Probably wrong though. **** knows really. <ok>

There are a few types of signings and they all have different affects on us as supporters, there are the.......

World Class Players - Messi, Suarez, Ronaldo etc any fan goes nuts and declares a league and Champions League win before a ball is kicked.
Great Players - Shweinsteiger, Alonso, Pique, they've been around the block and will enhance any team.
Young with potential - Depay, Coutinho, Kane and others, fans are happy with the signing and hope he goes on to be a great or World Class player
The Chancer - Firminio, Irralmendi, Draxler - Not a huge amount known about them but what we have seen looks good, they come at a decent price and go one way or the other but fans like this type of signing and get excited about finding a great player at a good price.
The Outsider - Ings, Herrera, Lamela next to nothing known about them, they look neat and tidy when you look into it but it's a worry, they sometimes work and sometimes don't but they certainly don't inspire as a signing.

Herrera has worked brilliantly for you lot though, hate that you have him.

At least with Herrera I'd seen him first hand and had then seen a bit in La Liga. Knew he was going to be good, very annoying he was held back at the start as he just looked the perfect foil for Carrick.

This Brazilian though, reminds a bit of the fuss made about Kleberson. How we triumphantly snatched him from the grasp of Leeds and he turned out to be ****, to be perfectly honest.
