Gerrard was spotted being held back by security guys in the BVB stadium when Real Madrid were awarded a penalty .. <laugh>

It is funny aswell how they have had treble the amount of penalties away from home, than they've had at home. It just goes to prove that referees are awarding them dodgy penalties in the tougher games when they need them most.

I really hope this penalty thing is well highlighted from now on in the run in, as it might make refs think twice before trying to give them any assistance:biggrin:

They complain about united/chelsea etc getting all the penalties, but guess who's been rewarded the most penalties in the pl era before this season started? You guessed it, Liverpool! <laugh>

Did you see Gerrard try to run on to the pitch to take Real's pen last night. Several security guards were needed to hold him back.

God forbid Bayern and utd draw 1-1 tonight and there is a shootout, Stevie won't be able to control himself <laugh>

You couldn't make it up really. The reasoning for some is that they are in the opposition box so often with their fast football, which is the exact same thing United fans said.

Chelsea get more penalties than us, you guys topped the table last year with 11.

Here's the stats

http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Premier_League_Penalty_Statistics.html

We don't actually get that many penalties, as you can see from the stats. The ABUs just like to mythically invent that we get more penalties than anyone, as a reason for our success. When in fact for a team who are normally at the top of the table, we get a lot less than we should do.

I put this down to the media loving to play up that refs favour us, which influences refs not to give us penalties even when we should get one:biggrin:

Touchy touchy. I wasn't actually having a pop at United there, just that Liverpool fans used to reject United fans' claims yet are here saying the same things.

So this is what it comes down to<laugh>

We haven't even won the league and are not favourites either and you are already making excuses just in case<laugh> <laugh>

We've almost achieved our season goals as not one of you considered us top 4 before a ball was kicked. It was meant to be City Chelsea Arsenal\Spurs and Man U and Liverpool 5th 6th or 7th according to ye all.

So moan away like bitter nags, this season has already been a success for us<ok>

Stop with this penalty nonsense

12 awarded, 3 at home. No pens and still 2nd highest scoring in the league

Its well documented how harder it is to win a pen away so the ref isnt showing biased <ok>

Not with SAS diving at every opportunity

<laugh>

All of our penalties were more legit than that Ramirez one against WBA, blatant corruption if you ask me

Look at Mariner's position, dodgy call if ever I seen one, Ramirez is already falling when he hits the defender, now that is a dive

Donga would be insulted if he read that<laugh>

Not at all, EC banning on about diving, seems he must have damaged his brain last week in Paris and forgot. Can you believe he was bigging up the scum fighting in Paris. Something along the lines of "least we ran the Ultras" after the 3 1 loss. So maybe someone did give his noggin a floggin with a stale baguette :D

For me the more important stat is penalties against. The best attacks in the league will always draw more penalties but defenses always make a few mistakes. Chelsea and City have only conceded 1 penalty between them, Manu 3 all against us, whereas Liverpool have conceded 4, Arsenal 6 and Everton with the 3rd best defense 6.

I think all teams should be legitimately be conceding 3-4 pens a year so why are refs more reluctant to give pens against some more than others?
