For what it is worth, this is Jose's spin on the striker situation, which we've been f**king up for four years now!

Jose said yesterday: "Many people don't understand why we don't do [business] but, in the summer, you will understand," said Mourinho, when asked why he hadn’t invested in a striker this month. "No [deals lined up for a striker], but we know what we want."
Also, he added: "We don't want emergency plans, it's not our profile now."
"We won't sign a striker now as an emergency plan to score half a dozen goals to give us half a dozen extra points, whatever that would mean for us.

Classic Jose spin, if we had a decent striker we would be several points clear of City and have a great chance of the title this year. Now we will probably have to wait til next season for the leaguE title.

Top 4>Winning anything in nearly a decade. There are 10s of thousands of Arsenal fans, all those gained in 8 years, that have never seen them lift a trophy ever. <laugh>

You probably would be top had a striker of quality arrived. Pretty much my point about Jose. I think the toll on Hazard will tell in the final stages of this season, he's been central to Chelsea's success.

As for next season, City new manager remember too, new players also, they too will be better. Sure if they've cracked the away form issues it's hard to see past them this season or next tbh.

After Jose's comments about West Ham we are going to see the exact same thing from Chelsea now at the Etihad, his timing again is bad just as with the diving comments right before Oscar <laugh>
 
You have to hand it to Chelsea tonight, was a very good performance. Pellegrini is far to naive to go 442 against Chelsea. The same happened against Bayern, and it's happened again tonight.

I just wish we had signed that Matic fella, he looks like just the player we could do with. He proper bossed Yaya Toure :biggrin:
 
What all this from Maureen about not being in contention for the title? I think they must be second favorites. Because although they can beat any team they will probably lose points by drawing with smaller teams that put 11 players behind the ball and through their lack of strikers. City will just gather the 3 points with each match against any one else.

It is City, Chavs and Arsenal in that order despite Tikitaka insisting he wants a conversation. I am afraid the top three are having a cosy chat without him... <laugh>

Chelsea are favourites. Have been since the second they got the best manager in the league.

I only hope united learn from mistakes and get a capable manager in soon. After that I would pay whatever it takes to tempt mourinho, tye 150million we apparently have for players, give it him and Chelsea.
