Shows just how far down they have came when finishing 4th warrants celebrations as if they have won a cup. Apparently they are having an open top parade and hold up a league table print out.
 
The news im hearing is that the winner of the Europa league will Qualify for the Champions league, wonder if that Is in place of a league position place. Ie Arsenal finished fourth but if spurs had won the Europa would that mean Arsenal lost it. Because the current starting format give you groups A- H 4 teams in each, would make it odd wouldn't it?

If you finish 4th and lose out because someone won the CL then there's no way UEFA will give an extra place if it's just teh europa league they win.

I think it needs to be an additional place. Also make the Champions League winners an additional place. Just modify the qualification process. If the Premier League happens to have 4 good teams plus the CL and EL winners, they get 6 places (or rather 3 places, plus 4th and the CL/EL winners have a qualifying round). Winning a European competition should count for something extra not just make things messy (despite how hilarious it was for THFC to miss out on the CL).
