Utd drew and Everton lost.

Still comfortable in 5th.

Yes, the United and Everton results ease the pressure somewhat. They play eachother at Goodison next week, so a win for us against Swansea at home (if we can't manage that we should just throw the towel in and enter the Intertoto Cup) will open up quite a sizable gap between us and the chasing pack. The week after, Everton face Watford and we face United. Theoretically we could be 8-9 points clear of them all in a fortnight. But no doubt we'll find a way to ensure that this doesn't happen <laugh>

Never one to celebrate injuries to players (unless said players are John Terry or Charlie Adam), but looks like Coutinho will be out for up to 2 months. They'll also be without Mane over much of the winter period, as he travels for the ACON. Will be interesting to see how they cope.

Never one to celebrate injuries to players...

Sees the Liverpool board has a thread titled Now or never for the title !

...nevermind.

I'd add Costa to that list, can't stand the ****. If he broke his leg during a match, I'd hope that when being stretchered off, the medical team would stack it, drop Costa face first and thus break his big nose.

Tragic news about the Chapecoense football team, may they all RIP.
Yes, awful news. My wife told me this morning that THE Brazil team had all died in a plane crash, that was even more shocking. Took a moment to realise it's not an International break.

Although it was the same plane that flew the Argentinian team to play against Brazil 2/3 weeks ago.

Coach's son missed the flight as he forgot his passport.
Coach himself tweeted after the semi-final that if he dies now he will die happy.

Atletico Nacional have asked for the final to be awarded to Chapecoense.
It's in Spanish, but here's their statement: http://www.atlnacional.com.co/ultimas-noticias/campeon-de-la-sudamericana-015298
It reads well, even via internet translation.

Nacional have asked fans to attend their stadium today to pay tribute the their opponents, too.
Various Brazilian clubs have offered players on loan without a fee and asked for the club to be exempt from relegation.
Sounds like they're pulling together in the face of tragedy.

One of their goalkeepers was allowed to miss the flight today, as it's his birthday.
The coach's son also missed it, as he had a passport mix up.
They must have some very mixed feelings right now. Poor bastards.

I'm not one to celebrate injury to players. However, if Jan Vertonghen was to keep a copy of this image of the elbow throwing ****er, Connor Wickham suffering from a cruciate ligament injury, I wouldn't blame him one little bit. It couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke.
