Cup obviously. Let me guess 'it was only our reserves'

Well, yeah. Both teams played heavily weakened sides.

That game proved that your reserve team is stronger than ours. Something that was and is clear as day.

So if my maths is correct,I make that a four points return from you this season.... Could well be the difference in the outcome of the title race!

You're right there! I think I'd feel better about you winning the title if you'd stuffed us in either or both games. Problem is that you scored with your only shot on target at our place, and while some argue that the scoreline always justifies whether a win is "deserved" I would disagree. But don't get me wrong, your achievement this season is absolutely fantastic, and you thoroughly deserve second place.

Our first team is as well
The league table doesn't appear to show your understandable rose tinted assertions by way of points return and that , after all is what matters.... Points make prizes !
Incidentally, at the beginning of the month you were 7pts behind us, assuming you win against WBA tonight, to narrow it back to 5pts.
That would mean you have clawed back 2pts from four games , if you carry on at that rate I have a feeling you're gonna run out of games !

I think I've got a couple of the line. Which one shall I drag in the keep net

Ahh, the classic "my idiocy has a few people laughing at me but i'll just pretend i'm winding them up to save face".

Chelsea's champions league victory in 2012 certainly didn't prove them to be the best team in Europe. Far from it, all it showed was their ability to stick to a (dire) formula that the more cultured sides of the world didn't know how to deal with. Di Matteo called it football, I called it geriatric line dancing. Barca and Bayern were vastly superior to them in that tournament. Chelsea were simply more effective.

That is a bit different to be fair.

You can fluke the 3/4 games that Chelsea did in 2012 but you can't win a League without being the best side in it.

CK did you really have to bring up Chelsea's CL triumph?! ****ing hell that brings back bad memories, not only did they cost us a spot in the following season's Champions League but they won the most prestigious club competition in world football by playing horrible, horrible football. How they fluked those wins against Barca and Bayern I'll never know, if football Gods exist, they definitely received a bung from Chelsea that season.

1. No different at all.

2. Yes you can.

If Atletico win La Liga, they do so knowing that have scored 50 odd goals less than their rivals.
Hardly the best attacking side in La Liga, but certainly effective.

You can be knocked out of the Champions League by having 1 bad game. You don't have to be the best side to win it.

If Atletico win La Liga then they will have deserved it. You just can't argue that.

Living in SE London for years has brought me into contact with a lot of Chelsea fans. When Abramovic took them over and they won the league it was unbearable. Within a couple of years things were different with those who went to the games and could speak. They were bored of winning 1-0. A couple that I know gave up season tickets.Boring football, full of know nothing plastic fans, too expensive, it sucked out of them whatever joy there is in supporting Chelsea.

The Premier League doesn't feature the best players. Spain has those. It sells around the world because it's exciting. From game to game, nothing's certain.Teams attack to the point where most can't defend at all. Sacrificing that for 1-0, too often, would start to kill what we have. I salute Leicester's acchievements but hope we don't get increasing numbers of tribute acts like for Watford's long ball game in the 80's.

That away game at the Nou Camp. It wasn't pretty or exciting football no but even as someone who has no interest in Chelsea it was still riveting to watch and exciting in a different way. It was the sort of thing you could simply put in front of a group of kids and say that's how to defend lads!

Whether Atletico deserve it or not is moot. They are not the best attacking side in the La Liga.
Therefore if they win La Liga, they do so not being the best in one key measurable facet.

Similarly, if one of the other two win La Liga, they do so not being the best in another key
measurable facet (goals conceded) .
