Yeah, by maybe a centimeter or 2. Tough decision but I like that the lino didn't give it out just because it's the safer decision.
I think it was out a bit more than that. Unfortunately for Everton, the Lino was on the far side.
I thought City thoroughly deserved to go through to the final, even with the dodgy goal they were by far the better team. The commentators and pundits all appeared desperate for Everton to go through, probably because they wanted their beloved Pool to face the weaker side in the final.
Martinez is in really deep water now. A cup final, especially against their arch-rivals, would've lifted a seriously flagging season. Unlike Poch, he doesn't appear to be capable of learning from experience as he has made this Everton side look like a more gifted version of his Wigan team. Same defensive errors, same exposed full backs, same erratic tempo in the middle of the pitch. I expect their stars to be picked off by various vultures come the summer.
All City need to do is keep Aguero fit and the League and Cup is theirs, head and shoulders above anyone in the country, such a class player.
Hmm! Even Maradona , Messi or Ronaldo can't win leagues on their own. Individuals can win games with special performances but teams win leagues.
Of course but Aguero is the difference between winning the League/ Cup and being runner up in my eyes. Take the key player out of any side and they'll likely finish lower than their current position, players like Aguero, Messi, Ronaldo etc are the reasons their sides often win titles and trophies because they produce consistently and when it's needed.
Not exactly a fair offer. HIAG has one of the best user names on the Board (and carefully chosen to be equally acceptable to Chelsea and Spurs fans!!!). Yours could barely be made worse.ok if your so sure how about we bet?
if klopp leaves or gets the sack before poch you can choose a username for me and i will keep it for a whole year and if poch goes 1st i choose yours for a year?
what say you?
*waits for haig to bottle it*
Do you think putting Aguero in the Newcastle team would see them win the league?
Not sure what relevance Newcastle has to do with City (or Barca/ Real) winning the league or cup. Although if Aguero played for them I'm sure they'd be much further up the table.
Sides like City, Barca and Real rely on Aguero, Messi and Ronaldo to ensure they win accolades, take them out of their respective sides for a prolonged period of time and there's a good chance they'd finish a runner-up instead of a winner, those sort of players make the defining difference to a top side, it's why they're regarded as the best in the world as they're the ones who make that all important difference.
Taking the key player out of any side though will result in a team likely finishing a place or two lower. Would we be 4th without Kane? Doubtful. Leicester top without Vardy? Nope. God help Newcastle if they didn't have Wijnaldum this season.
