All the players you mention (except Bony) are just better players than Soldado and would (and indeed have in some cases) perform well in any league they might play in.
I think football is more random than people imagine. All that really happened to Soldado was that he missed a few chances in his early matches and lost confidence. AVB did a reasonable job in showing faith in him to little avail but then Sherwood came in and selected Adebayor instead which must have been a real kick in the teeth. Then Kane turned into a miracle man so Soldado remained on the fringes and never got his confidence back.

To be fair to Sherwood he attempted to revive Soldado and partnered him with Adebayor in games, while Soldado had chances and simply couldn't perform but they did link up well together.

Soldado was here for 2 years and much like Veron (a player given every chance) it's not about luck, it's about a player adapting to a new league which some simply can't adjust to.

Certain players can switch leagues and instantly work, players like Beckham who was slaughtered at times for having average technical ability, yet he played to a high standard in three top leagues, he was confident in his ability to settle, something Soldado lacked from the outset.

If you start off in a high tempo league like the Premier league then stepping over to slower leagues like Spain, where Soldado is a different player and Italy which has traditionally always been about technique. Then it is probably easier to settle in that cycle.

I still don't rate Beckham as a midfielder.

Not having seen a lot of United over the years, I was at a Saints v United match, a few seasons back, at St Mary's, and Beckham made a cross-field pass of about 60 yards that was as perfect and as spectacular as I have ever seen, and it set up United's winner.

I think it's easy to under-estimate Beckham, because he wasn't an obvious talent, such as Ronaldo, Bale, or Messi, but what he could do with a ball, for his team, was a special as anything those other guys could do.

You may not rate him, but the guy has settled in three top leagues, fast/slow paced leagues and while Soldado was never suited to this league, much of that was down to him as a player. Negredo performed well at City (granted for a brief period but same season as Soldado), while we have seen players move from Spain to England with success.

He was a better midfielder than he was goalkeeper/defender/forward.

But i know what you mean. He did have a great right foot though

Don't want him anyway. The only way he's ever a world class striker is if he joins us...

But you do need a striker, though.

Tell you what, we have a lad here from Togo. Big, tall and strong - can score with either foot and his head. He's worked with your manager before I believe so he'll probably slot straight in.

He's yours for a Yorkie bar and a used condom.

Have Liverpool even used Ings or Origi yet? We'll use them if you don't want them Rodgers <ok>

Ozil's looking more and more like an expensive Dembele, he gave Arsenal nothing all night.

We've scored more than Liverpool, Arsenal and United. Given how we've actually weakened ourselves in attack they should all be thoroughly ashamed of themselves :D

Ozil was one of our better players given that there was very little movement in front of him.

Wasn't a good performance overall though. Deeply disappointed. We won all three of these fixtures last season and have 4 points from them this season.

If things go the way I expect them to, we will take the coveted 4th place spot from United this season [HASHTAG]#progression[/HASHTAG]
