I can remember the Spurs fans singing Glory,Glory,.....at the Spurs v Benfica semi in 1962.Honestly.it made my knees shake.It was so over powering!We let 'em in for a quick goal,then were all over them for the rest of the game.How we never won it was amazing.....and we would have played an over the hill Real Madrid in the final.But we had to wait for the following season to be the first British team to win a European tournament.....and won it well!!!!!!

God knows what they made of a game like that.

Nobody would have told them about the aerial bombardment of a Cup tie away to lower league opposition in freezing cold January. There was some doubt about whether Falcao would be signing permanently - I bet he won't be now!
 
Anyone who fancies watching the Blackburn v Swansea game can do so via the iPlayer, regardless of where you are.
It's only being broadcast in Wales, but you can change your region and watch it anyway.

There's something great about teams from different leagues playing for a cup that isn't seen in American sports either. It uses one of the great features of football to great advantage: the way playing defensively can negate a huge gulf in talent between two teams. Because it is so difficult to score in general, and since defensive ability depends more on teamwork and just plain work than talent, a much weaker team has a better chance of getting a result than in any other sport I know.

I don't think I'll be quite so sanguine about this feature of English football in the buildup to the Sheffield game, however.
 
Tom Carroll's opportunity to impress for Swansea today has been cut short, due to the actions of a dopey Goon. <doh>
Former Arsenal youngster Kyle Bartley managed to pick up a straight red after 7 minutes, which forced Monk's hand.
Carroll was subbed so that they could bring on a defender to replace the dismissed pillock.

Sigurdsson's just put the Swans 1-0 up, though. Interesting.
And now Blackburn have equalised. Non-stop, this.
 
Did anyone else notice Iwan Roberts' transformation from his time as a player, when he was doing some half-time punditry?

3-1 Blackburn and Swansea down to 9 men, as Sigurdsson goes off, too. Bit harsh. Probably a yellow.
Their fans will not be happy about this performance. Following on from the battering by Chelsea, Monk might want to be careful.
 
Blackpool were 2-0 up at Watford at half-time. It's now the 66th minute or so and the score's 5-2 to the home team.
That's some collapse.
 
7 for Watford now. 4 for Ighalo to go with his brace in their last game. Not a bad eight days.
