L'pool's problems are clear to see. As with last season, their defence is highly suspect.

Possibly, but very hard to solve. Anything that shores up their defence will lead to less creativity and fewer chances being created. However, I shudder to think what most on here would say if we played 343 with Paulinho at right wing back, Rose at left wing back, Dembele and Tom Carroll in midfield and Eriksen, Lennon and Lamela up front, which is the nearest I can get to Liverpool's team yesterday. But a few months back everyone was bemoaning the fact that Rogers wasn't our manager.

L'pool have, IMO, a top, if fragile striker in Sturridge. However, he's currently out injured ( again!). Last year their defensive e deficiencies were well disguised by the torrent of goals scored by S&S. Those deficiencies are still very much evident, as is their problem.

They could easily have scored several times yesterday. The reasons they didn't were, as above, and De Gea.

As has been discussed elsewhere, one World class player at either end can hide a myriad of problems elsewhere. As we know only too well!

Chesterfield have been ordered to replay their FA Cup 2nd round game against MK Dons after fielding an ineligible player.

No idea why they weren't kicked out, yet other clubs in the same situation were. Odd.

Agreed. If it were a bigger club that made the mistake and went through there would be a lot of criticism over the decision.

Even more odd though is that the Chesterfield chairman is upset about the decision and according to him MK Dons were on his side.

Prehaps we should try it,might work,MP's tried near enough eveything else

Another manager bites the dust. This time it's Nigel Adkins at Reading. Wouldn't be surprised to see Madejski ask Brian McDermott to return.

It's also rumoured Sami Hyppia will be removed at Brighton with Tim Sherwood a favourite to take over.

Hyypia was doing so well at Leverkusen,2nd in his first season, 3rd in his second and at the halfway point of the third they were the only ones stopping Bayern running away with the league but after that it went tits up.

Might be he needs to return to a Fergie type role with a quality coach running training for him, he had Lewandowski(no idea if he's related) at Leverkusen up until his last season in charge.

I wasn't....thought he was mediocre who got lucky last season.
Terrible man manager and way too mouthy...has been slagging us off for over a year...particularly in the summer...really pleased his signings have ****ed up after all his comments about how he wasnt gonna screw up his transfers like we did

I think sherwood will crash and burn...not suited to being a manager...bit like Di Canio imo ... minus the fascist ****

Horrible tackle on mirales (excuse spelling) looked bad

They are usually clamped down on harshly by the refs but I don't think there's any malice in it, it's just that the action is always likely to cause an injury as the trailing leg wraps around the opposition player. Can't say I have any sympathy for Mirallas though, one of the worst divers in the league.

Besic is a nasty piece of work too, some horrid challenges from him again tonight, always jumps into challenges when there's no need.

Easy enough win for Everton, not a particularly good game though.
