I think Jason McAteer takes some beating.

Forgot about him. Merson has never hid being a bit thick but I found his analysis of Barkley quite strange. He seemed to be trying to sound knowledgable by saying the easy things are difficult and the difficult things are easy, creating the Merson Paradox :D I like Merson as a pundit though, he's pretty fair and holds his hands up when he's wrong.

Is Benteke the new Chris Armstrong, great for one season, gets injured and then never the same player. Although I don't remember Benteke being called a pot head.

Nice to see Arsenal drop a couple of points but with their lead and the other results I would say it was one point gained rather than two points lost!

not many people noticed at the time, but they had a brilliant transfer deadline day.

martinez is really proving what a great manager he is too. you could see it against us when he turned the game on its head at half time. i rarely have a 2nd team, but everton are rapidly becoming it.

Are we jealous of Everton, probably a wee bit but when did Everton last enjoy an attacking team? They deserve the plaudits and it's similar to when we went on that great run under Redknapp with out 4411 team. Now we're the most boring team in the league!

They give young talent game time and for that alone, they should be admired.

Were Everton really that good, or is it merely the case that Arsenal has begun the usual bottle-job in the run-up to Xmas?

I'm leaning towards the latter view.

In any event, the draw was a great result for us, as it means that two of our principle rivals each dropped two points. Now, we can crack on and reel them both in.

True, that whipper snapper Distin is the pick of the bunch! Funny as he's probably playing the best football of his career and keeping up with the youngsters.

Martinez did well to get two young star players in on loan and to bring in the Wigan contingent to add squad depth. They have improved, but are workmanlike and will not threaten the top sides. Battling perhaps with Liverpool, Spurs and Utd (I hope) for 4th spot at best.

What happened to taking the piss out of torres for not scoring!? Is he so bad that it's become accepted as he's worse then ever for missing open goals. Or have we helped take away some of the focus with signing Soldado.

Never miss an opportunity to slag off Spurs, eh?

workmanlike ?

not on today's performance. arsenal were hardly in the game the first half and everton's movement and passing was slick and fluid.

Look around you Vim and fans 'slagging' off their own team is normal when you're not happy about how your team is being run.

But I'll openly take any opportunity to slag off Avb but if he does something right, he will get, some, or a little praise :)

Luke is confused as he supports the old Everton, the workmanlike Everton, the one managed by Moyes.

I always have a second team. It's whoever is playing The Goons, today that was Everton!..
