30 million for a 5 cap 28 year old Brazilian
How much for 17 cap 23 year old Brazilian captain ?

Never mind definitely not for sale unless its Monaco with 100 million !!

I see Whinger has been told they can afford Rooney, why would he leave O/T for a club that can't win the C/L,they have failed for 19 years of trying

Elano was quality for, what, half a season?

A lot of Brazilians seem to shine for a short period and then disappear? Perhaps that is an incorrect impression or perhaps their skill level or style of play makes them more likely to attract attention

Even we with our dire record over the last few years have won 3 trophies since the gooners picked up their last. Can't see Rooney desperate to move there for the invisible 4th place cup

Genuinely don't think Rooney is interested in football now. Seems to have lost the hunger, he'd take a payday anywhere and just play when he feels like it. He knows no matter how **** he is he'll be in the 2014WC squad because England are that bad.

Gazidis thinks that the best way to satisfy Koscielny's demands the club "show ambition" is to make vague mentions of being able to afford £20m+ fees and talk up Wayne Rooney...which is actually a stupid thing to do, considering it now puts pressure on Wenger to deliver those rather than sign players they need, and is poorly-timed given the last time Wenger spent big has just been released by the club.

Sad to say, i think you have nailed this DL

You clearly know sod all (surprise surprise) about the huge numbers already on the Arsenal season ticket waiting list, or the cut-off date for season ticket renewals.

Ignorance personified.

With respect, I don't think it's ignorant to suggest some clubs manipulate press reports to suit their season ticket renewal dates. I remember Spurs had a deal done and dusted to sell Teddy Sheringham to United, but put the transfer on hold for 24 hours and then made it public the day after our season ticket renewal date had passed.

I'm pretty sure that was the only reason we said we were looking to bring in Rivaldo a decade ago as well.

I appreciate what you are saying, but Mr Insidious (DL) was talking about Arsenal and a particular comment by our manager, not of other clubs. The timing of the comment and the facts surrounding our club's ST policy suggests Mr Insidious is ignorant.

Just looked that up and found the BBC article for it: Hoddle is quoted as saying: 'People keep telling us we need a forward but they are being naive if they think we don't already appreciate that fact.''

Seems its always all or nothing with us <laugh>
