Bertrand goes down outside the penalty area after falling over under no challenge. BBC commentator Jonathon Pearce "that has to be a penalty surely?". MOTD never fails to get me angry <doh>

BBC commentators again: "The flag stayed down it would've counted". McLean was about 6 yards onside course it would've counted! :D

just seen the qpr game on MOTD, Taarabt is maturing into a fab player, great vision and creativity.

Do we have a buy back option :D

What a strike by Baines!

Somehow Twatkinson missed a clear penalty to Newcastle. Don't believe me? The Beeb commnetator said it would be "harsh" on Neville <doh>

Unreal goal from Baines. We'd never have a chance in hell of getting him now but what a signing he'd be.

What the heck are you on about? The media and pundits alike have leapt to the defence of Bale whilst branding the likes of Suarez, Oscar and Ivanovic cheats.

Because Bale is vitimised and the others are cheats. It is my honestly held view, why can't they believe it too?

1. Did Marin get a yellow? If so of course the FA "can't do anything about it" (except of course they can because it's not in the laws of the game that they can't). Basically they can give a retrospective red if they really wanted to.

2. Re the free kick, yes it's a great strike but the guy on the outside of the wall turns his back on the shot that goes very close to him. If he'd just faced the ball and stuck a leg out he would have stopped or diverted it. A lot of "great" goals that come from long range shots are only great because lots of defenders missed them, whilst equally great strikes are often stopped or blocked.

And probably lost a leg!

I think that'd was more too it than that. If you saw it from behind, the amount of swerve on the ball was vicious.

Love good old Rangers. Thanks 'Arry

That might not not be good for Spurs. Had we won or even drawn you were most likely going to play a team that was dead and buried. With the extra incentive of Arry wanting revenge on his ex-employees it will be a tough match.

<yikes>

Can the refs stop helping out the teams around us, please?

First decision we've had in months but still lost anyway so you could argue it had no bearing on the outcome of the game. Thankfully M'Bia wasn't seriously injured.

Not really, even the last 3 times when he was booked for being fouled it was a mix of people saying he was unlucky and others saying he dived. Ivanovic got called a cheat because he dived about 3/4 times in the opening handful of games, Oscar kind of got caught up in that after going down easy and Suarez's dives were just pathetic. Bale's "dives" around that time were also either laughed at or criticsed by the media.

I said before your game that it would be a tough one but if the players believe they're already halfway to being safe like the media do then I can only see it as a positive for us.

As I understand it the refs can mention in their report that they didn't take sufficient action at the time of the incident and suggest a ban. There won't be any ban though because the FA and refs are all in such a bloody mess, Nasri leaning his head in is of course a red and a 3 game ban whilst a potential leg breaker is a booking - this undermines refs more than anything else. On the plus side at least it wasn't a dirty cheat like Ivanovic who got away with it, Marin was just trying too hard to impress and anyway a 3 game ban to him wouldn't have affected Chelsea much.

Pearce has alway's been a twat, since his early day's when Capital radio used to cover London Matches,no knowledge of football at all.

Yeah, he used to shout "GOOOOOAAAAALLL" really loudly, didn't he? He was a gimmick commentator then and now he's a gimmick commentator without a gimmick.

What really made me laugh though was Motty a few weeks ago. He had the Arsenal match where they got 2 pens(v West Brom?) and Arteta sent both down the middle. The reaction to both was "well if he stayed where he was he would have saved it!", he sounded totally baffled by it all. Literally hundreds of games he's watched and a penalty down the middle still totally perplexes him, why would a striker hit it at the 'keeper? and why would a 'keeper dive away from the ball.
