I would like to know if any white solicitors have tried to join them, and if they have what happened?

They wouldn't be allowed.

I don't see why this has caused so much uproar amongst the White Community. This thing has always gone, whether it be Muslim-only schools, Arabic-only schools, Jewish law firms etc.

There are many law firms that almost openly discriminate against ethnic minorities and will not employ them and nothing is said or done. The SBL has been set up to attract potential Black Lawyers who may otherwise have felt ostracised by the profession.

I can't say I agree with the SBL but I also resent the discrimination BME groups face in the professional society.

If they are not allowed to join, that itself is Racist,so in that case Herbert is racist.

Covert racism is one of the hardest things to prove though

I don't deny that DL, but I just wonder what the point in the SBL is when there's already an organisation that appears to have the same aims.
Isn't one of them rather redundant?

This seems to happen with a lot of things these days - for another example, there's three Hillsborough groups - which does nothing but complicate things. After all, an agreement can be reached with Group A, but Group B will say it;s not good enough and demand more, or just reject the agreement out of hand, so nothing gets done other than time and money being wasted.
