Note: All-time standings are calculated using the historical points accumulated since the inception of the English Football League in 1888, combining both First Division and Premier League records. [1, 2, 3]

Yes.
And the players
It's certainly fair to say we were diddled out of 8-12 points by **** ref calls, which would put us somewhere between 10th-12th (but not as high as 8th as some claim, our goal difference is too much of an obstacle)

At that point, or even if we lumbered along to finish in the 12th-15th bracket, the discourse would have been on Frank's tactics nerfing the squad, as the block on through balls and long shots would have had tacticos focus on how that actively defanged some of our players while also making us far too easy to set up against

Divock Origi’s retired at just 31.

Probably the ****test player that somehow managed to score some monumental goals.

Very weird guy.

Sounds like he just wants to focus on other pursuits. Fair enough.

Not all footballers love football.

I think it was Benny who described it as a 9-5. He now lives with his wife and children in the same town he grew up in. Some just want a normal life and only play football to earn enough money to live it.

Oh yeah I’d be the same, I love football but after a couple huge contracts I’d **** it all off and live a life of luxury.

I’m just saying Origi is weird in the fact he never really seemed like a good player but came up with some huge, huge moments.

Benny’s honesty was so refreshing and also hilarious. Not liking something you’re very good at that makes you insanely rich is something I’m extremely jealous of. I hate my job but equally I’ll never be insanely rich from it too.

Iirc Benny was massively into football as a youngster, but emotionally detached himself from it after suffering a really bad injury early in his career.

He basically had an epiphany where he realised if he allowed football to be the be all and end all, and he picked up a career ending injury, there'd be nothing left to live for. So he just detached.

Very wise decision imo. You see/hear so many former pros who fall into depression and substance abuse after they retire, because their life is so empty without that football buzz.
