Conspiracy theories are almost never correct. How could a bunch of barely competent officials organise something like that without someone leaking it.
Under the current rules, because the arm is in an unnatural position, if it touches the ball it is a penalty. Presumably from one angle there is evidence of a glancing blow.
Absolutely crazy that such things can decide a league title but that's down to the Laws not VAR.

Italian fans were told they were imagining that Juventus and Milan got preferential treatment from refs

Then along came Calciopoli, where phone taps revealed that Juve and Milan were literally picking their referees

With the amount of money in the game and the kind of people a lot of the owners are what I would find surprising is that the game is straight.
We know money has changed hands to ease transfers in the past. Why would it go straight if nobody has been sanctioned.
Meanwhile let's prosecute Maddison for saying what everybody knows is true.

They were certainly improved on recent PL games for sure, but neither side were great. It was stale fare for the most part.
They could have also easily lost a couple of players: Enzo to a straight red and Cucharella for two yellows - he should have been booked early on for the rant at the lino.
As a result, at least they didn't get the confidence boost of a win and hopefully a couple have picked up knocks. We can but hope! <laugh>
 
Just heard the shattering news for the Spammers, that...Adama Traore will miss the game today!!! OMG!! What a blow for them!! How can they possibly cope with that loss? <yikes>

On the other hand, Newcastle will be without the injured Joelinton, half the squad are signing contracts with other clubs and the rest have probably bought their suntan lotions and have their hotels booked.... <doh>

Let's not be kidding ourselves here, by the time we go into the last game season at the very least we will need to beat Everton to retain PL status - and even that probably won't be enough!!

Just as well we have such a great home record then.....<laugh>
