That goes back to the local regiment that got a taste for it while stationed nearby during WW1

Yes, it is widely taken with hot water...

Never tried it myself...although I have drunk Buckfast. The shops in Blackpool stock up with huge loads of it during Rebellion...and it sells bloody fast.

If you want a monk-made liqueur I think Chartreuse beats Benedictine.
I learnt to sing in a choir in a Benedictine monastery where the monks' spirit of choice was Benedictine and Cognac mixed 50:50. That's also pretty good.

I don't want to imagine the hangover you can get with that.

2 nil Brentford

Get in

Lets see how much we want this tomorrow
I reckon you get a draw tomorrow.

Which wouldn't be enough to take you out of the relegation zone, but it'd get you 1 point closer and West Ham's remaining fixtures aren't a cakewalk. But let's see, as Unai may rotate for this game and go all out for the 2nd leg of the Europa League semi.

You'll be needing us to do a favour against the Spammers...

Yes

so try not to let us down

Can see us losing tomorrow

Just don't see where we get a goal from

I don’t think Villa will rest anyone tomorrow, to be honest. Maybe 1 or 2, but who ever they play, they’ll be miles better than us.
However, I’ve got a feeling we’ll sneak a point. And away at Villa, that’d be a very decent result.
Leeds are on the beach now, which is a blessing too. <ok>

They'll have to rest Onana

Hamstring injury and all that

So Man City went top and now Arsenal will play twice and have a 6 point lead before City play again?

What is that about? Seems a bit dodgy

Villa need 3 more pts to secure top 5 (and CL via the PL) .
Their games after Spurs are:

1. Burnley
2. The Poool (who are currently are also on 58 pts)
3. Citeh

Would be quite a risk for them to lose to Spurs
due to a weakened team and trust in getting 3 pts
from 1/2.

It's not dodgy at all. One of the reasons why we'd played a game extra was because of the League Cup final. For us, the rescheduled fixture was against Wolves which we'd played ages ago. Whereas City's was against Palace. However, as Palace are also playing in Europe, they were unable to find an appropriate slot that didn't clash with both teams' commitments, which is why we'd played a game extra on them. Then, for the other game, City were playing in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton while we played Newcastle in the league, as we'd get knocked out of the FA Cup. Hence why we've played the extra 2 league games.

Progression in the FA cup is the real fixture torment.
Any PL team who reaches the League cup final
only is only one league game behind that.

If it was like Spurs in 2015-16 (being forced to
play four consecutive match rounds after Lesta,
when neither were in cup competitions)
then one could justly complain.

City could have played first this weekend surely?

To have played 2 games more seems excessive.
