Burnley have sacked Scott Parker and replaced him with Michael Jackson.

Now I know Scotty’s been far from decent, but apparently MJ is really really bad.

1-0 Forest FT

Probably among the best results we could have hoped for. Last thing we wanted was for the tie to be done and dusted.

Now Villa have it all to do in the second leg, while Forest will know it is far from over.

Hopefully both teams are suitably distracted this weekend.

Onana went off with a hamstring injury, too

So anyone suggesting two years ago he would be an ideal signing for us...

1. Sticking with my old prediction that Villa will win the EL,
but it would be amusing for Forest to do it (effectively
repeating Spurs 2024-25 season) .

2. Forest are safe.

Tis between us and the Spanners now.
With their kindred vermin FC club probably giving
the relegation killer blow to Spurs.

I think the next two weekends could be pivotal between us and West Ham (I’m excluding Forest as they’d probably need to lose all 4).

If they lose or draw at Brentford then gives us a boost going into Sunday and hopefully Villa haven’t got their eye on the ball as they’ve effectively got top 5 already ahead of the second leg.

Then have to fancy Arsenal against them and we have a home game against safe Leeds which could be where it swings.

We play second both times which could go either way though. Any dropped points by West Ham should give us a massive boost but if they manage to nick a win then the pressures well and truly on and it’s then down to can de Zerbi do a better job at getting them confident than those before him.

To be fair, Forest losing all four and plummeting through the trap door on the final weekend would be deserved for so many reasons

We should bring Levy back specifically to lead the Gibbs-White negotiations if that does happen...
