I feel that the relegation battle is Spurs v West Ham.
West Ham have some tricky fixtures (on paper).
Spurs too, but Wolves might be a chance to level things up.
It may come down to that final day and who does best - Spurs at home to Everton; West Ham v Leeds.

Yeah it’s pretty clear it’s out of West Ham & Spurs now.

I don’t see Spurs getting 40 points but I see West Ham getting that.

Relegation beckons

It probably will be and will go to the wire imo with us relegated on the last day playing the team everyone predicted would cease being an ever-present before we did, in a final cruel twist of irony.

But Forest aren't safe yet. Sunderland away and Chelsea away and their EL semi finals in between those fixtures. I'd earmark their game at Old Trafford as another really tough one, but you'll have nothing to play for.

Forest have benefited from a really easy recent run of fixtures. Their draw at City is the only one since the beginning of February that stands out as impressive. In that regard I'd say West Ham have notched up more impressive results. Draws against both Manchester clubs and Bmouth, and a win away to Fulham mean that they're quietly the 'form' team of the three of us.

I am fully reconciled to playing in the championship next season but I do feel there are a few more twists and turns yet to come.

Forest fans, like City, may have gone a tad early on the celebrations but it does mean that we do have to actually WIN a match or three, which on this seasons showing looks unlikely...
Agree, I don’t think you can write Forest out yet. Still Europe to focus on and the tougher fixtures on paper although our form would suggest any fixture for us is crazy hard but I’m still standing by if we beat wolves then we can get that monkey off our back and then hopefully take some confidence into the last 4.

Everton won’t be easy for West Ham this week and if Forest lose first then could bring them right back in it.

Wolves v Spurs
West Ham v Everton
Sunderland v Forest

Leeds safe imo but they v Bournemouth Away

I think Forest will be dragged back into it. They've played a string of terrible teams recently, wins against us and Burnley and a home draw against Villa have lifted them above the relegation zone, but that's hardly anything to boast about. Plus their EL commitments.

They have by far the toughest run in on paper.

Pointless talking about who has the tougher run-in when we’re making even our relegation rivals look like prime PSG.

Wolves relegated so the pressure is off or is it Wolves relegated, dejected and vulnerable?

For me anything less than 3 points in this game and that 5% of hope I got will be removed and like Wolves, I will also free myself from the anxiety and get ready for the championship.

The trouble is that in order to stay up we are asking a team without a league win since December to win at least 3 out of 5 matches which includes a game at a ground where we have won once in over 30 seasons (and we have played them every season) and we also need to win as many home matches in the last 2 as we have won all season yes thats 2....

They’ll no doubt end up playing for pride and stuff us. Not that they’d have to work very hard though.

My hope pretty much went ages ago, mate. Got strikers that can’t hit a barn door and defenders forgetting to clear a ball. Perfect recipe for the drop.

More than anything else: **** Forest

The pressure has been off Wolves for ages which is why they started playing with and for a bit of pride.

It needs to be a big win against them, not just to boost GD but to build confidence in a way that a scraped or undeserved win just doesn't. If West Ham and Forest can put four past them, so must we.

Since fully accepting relegation, I've become boundlessly optimistic. It's bizarre.

Yeah it’s likely Spurs will need 9-10 points out of 15. That’s just not happening at all

It isn't going to happen.

We will be relegated and it will be fully deserved. The football club has become a minor consideration, after all the other money making schemes that are parasitically feeding off it and have become the focus of the owners' attentions.

Yup

The club just needs enough thought and ££ to keep on going according to these non football people who own us.

The result is exactly what we are witnessing as supporters of THFC

The one thing that doesn't stack up with the "ENIC are leeches" theory is that our average transfer spend has continued to rise, as has our wage bill, since moving to the supposed cash cow that is the new stadium.

As far as I have calculated, we're close or at maxing out on transfer fees every year because of the loan covenants (which are widely reported as being among the most reasonable ever negotiated for a project so big). Wages could grow circa 25% and I'd like that to happen immediately as it's the one thing we haven't tried yet, but at the same time I understand the reluctance of the owners to do something that drastic overnight instead of gradually.

We also seem reluctant to sell players even at a huge profit, see for example the interest in Bergvall for circa £40m in January...truly greedy owners would have jumped at that opportunity. Instead we only seem to sell players the manager doesn't want.

In other words, there isn't that much evidence that they are abusing the football operation as a source of income.

However, the alternative is possibly much more terrifying: if they aren't mismanaging us because of greed, they're doing it because of sheer incompetence and stupidity.

That’s my view too.

It’s not even about spending more, it’s spending better.

I do think they need to increase the wage bill though. Buy quality instead of quantity.

Clueless is worse than being tight.

100%.

Said it before too but it’s scary such naive people can get into such powerful positions.

I hand on heart mean it when I say the majority of us on this forum would comfortably do a better job than Lange. I’ve tried being more lenient on Vinai but ultimately I have no idea what it is he’s brought to the club or what he’s even meant to do. All we really know about him is he’s ex-Arsenal… brilliant.

100%.

If there ever was "must win game" then this is it. Anything less and we're gone in my opinion.

Forest have a tricky run in but, and not to overstate the obvious, we HAVE to start winning games....
