We are 4 points of 5th playing really poor football. The quality of the Premier League this season has to be questioned. Fans are talking as if we are playing rubbish and we are really poor! They are not wrong but where does that leave the rest of the teams in the PL? Apart from the top two they are all inconsistent and lacking in any kind of star quality.
Has the massive bandwagon, that is football declined? I do think the PL is not helped by the referee prima donna parade who sit every season and discuss how they are going to change the way they interpret the rules. This season it's let the game flow, ignore some tackles but punish others.
I am old enough to remember the football of Brazil in the 70s and the great Netherlands team. The ruthless West German teams. the swaggering Italian teams. The France team of Zidane, Marradona's Argentina. Gazza, Best, Maldini, and so on.
Football that had you off your seat. where is it now?

Talking of rivals...
I know that this view will be considered sacrilege by some/many (delete as appropriate), but seeing City drop points today leaving them trailing by 6, I do believe that in a two horse race I'd prefer to see Arsenal take the title.

There, I've said it <laugh>

So would I pal, so would I <laugh>.

Who says Spurs and Arsenal fans can't agree on stuff? <whistle>

You and me both.

I said this years ago and got pelters for it.

My thought process is very simple:

If City keep beating Arsenal to the title, it basically means that the only way I'll see Spurs win the league is if we cheat, which is what City have been doing since they Suddenly Became Relevant. And tbh if that happens, I'll stop supporting Spurs anyway so won't even enjoy the occasion.

Arsenal winning the league will hurt like hell, but that's the emotional reaction. Eventually the intellectual reaction will kick in, which is:

If they can do it, after years of careful planning and steady investment backing the same manager, so can we.

And that makes the pain worth it imo.

We’ve seen Liverpool win the league twice in recent years with careful planning and steady investment and backing the same manager though.

Of course it can be done. We don’t need to see the scum win the league to know that.

Then again it is also true that I hate Chelsea much more than I hate Arsenal, so I may not feel as much pain as others would.
Chavs would be top for me too. And if they weren't such a clown show, the Spanners would likely be in 2nd place in the Hate Game.

Mind you, I still harbour grudges against Leeds and City from the '70's <laugh>
