Apparently the punishment for Liam Roberts has been extended from the three match red card ban with another three matches on top of that. I think they've done that before to reflect intent. Not sure about the intent in this case, certainly reckless, but that's what a red is for isn't it? The only consistency as usual with footie is the inconsistency of it all. This six game ban is now the same as Dembele got for "gouging" the Chelski player in the Battle of the Bridge, the same as Bentancur got for his racism, six more than Fernandez got for his racism, and six more than Torres got for his gouging (Toby or Jan, can't remember who it was).

Be interesting to see MOTD on the potential Liverpool red card. It did go to VAR, because it wasn't VanDijk committing the offence, but I think they then found the rule that says no Liverpool players can be sent off. But I shall wait and see.

Edit: It was Nunez who wasn't sent off, but then "wins" a penalty and scores.

You’re still obsessed with your ref and reds theory <laugh>

Yep, it`s common knowledge Varpool are immune from red cards and giving away penalties, it`s usually Van Dyke let off with clear sendings off, who struts around elbowing and raking studs down achilles etc punishment free, and who can forget Jota let off with kicking Skipp in the face. Likewise with penalties gifted, how many of Salah`s Pool goals are from penalties that should not have been given.

Great free kick from Fernandes and United lead a game they haven't really been in. Rayas'positioning look dubious gave him an awful lot of the goal to aim for, but my word he took advantage.
