Don’t worry. The Tories will give the North nowt.
HS2 should tell you that Birmingham is about as far north as they will go.
You can sleep easy in the privileged South - whatever public money is going, you’re getting it.
Man Utd reported a revenue of £648.4m last year.
You don't need public money for this. Just stop the Glazers nicking it.

True.
But that may be a forlorn hope. They have bought the club with its own money and continue to siphon it off. I don’t think they’re done yet. But maybe they will have an epiphany and realise that they could make even more money if the club had a state of the art stadium and was competitive on the field

Nah. They're going full West Ham, instead. Moyes will be back in the summer...

A manager who regularly keeps them in the CL
is an easier proposition for repaying the debt.

Not a single shot on target by Arsenal v Porto.
Thrashing West Ham and Burnley is one thing…..
Porto only had 2. Old school Portuguese performance in Europe.
Kill the game, make it dull and slow, then try to nick it at the end.
I'm sure Mourinho was watching with nostalgic tears in his eyes.

Three players in space and he gives it away, then Rice watches as Galeno picks his shot.

I wish we could hire someone to "nicelly" tell our players each season that if you screw up on a regular basis you win sod all! I know! Doesn't work, does it?

When the bookies had us as 3rd favourites to win the Champions League, it did make me chuckle. For a team that hasn't been involved in the competition for 7 years, never won it before and historically struggle at this stage, it's very bold to assume we're that high up to win it when we're facing seasoned CL contenders who have more European pedigree than us.

Our performance yesterday lacked maturity and it's understandable why, given this is uncharted territory for a lot of the players we have. But having us as 3rd favourites is setting us up for failure if/when things go wrong and we get KO'd early.

I think you'll have enough to get past them in the second leg.

I am not sure we are going to finish in the top 5, but if we do and we want champions league we need them to turn it round and we want Liverpool, Brighton, West Ham and Villa to go further in their respective cups too.

As soon as I heard that 5th place might be enough for a CL place this season - and then that it may not - I knew that we are going to finish 5th. Because we can then stack it on our prize shelf with lasagnagate, the Chelski CL win and similar.

We should want the English teams to do well in Europe because it may improve the chances of five PL teams getting into the expanded CL next season. CL money is going to be more vital than ever - especially given that there will be more of it.

I know what you are saying, but wanting Arsenal, Liverpool, West Ham and Villa all to win matches is not somewhere that any Spurs fan is likely to feel comfortable.

Vital to whom ??
PL clubs that are financially well run should see the CL as "bonus money" , no ??
