This is part of the text from the Pool match:

Miguel Almiron fouls Mohamed Salah just outside the penalty area and is booked.

Funnily there was an offside in the build-up so if Almiron had let Salah go on and score the goal would have been disallowed by VAR.

But the free-kick and yellow card stand.

So if it's offside but the lino doesn't raise a flag, any offence that happens counts? Isn't this another thing to add to that list of stuff like a major injury happening?

Also didn't see the keeper sending off thing, but surely not every accidental handball is a red (not when a West Ham player does it anyway, and that one wasn't even accidental). Presumably it stopped a goal?

Think Azpilicueta is out cold, wouldn’t be surprised if his nose/ jaw is broken too, can’t see exactly where the contact was. Mara had no idea he was there and was completely accidental but that’s as bad a boot to the face as you can get.

Not nearly as good as this

Thank you. So if an outfield player does that it's a red card is it? I should know the rules by my age but am still asking! There's a defender behind him, so if he fouls Salah does he get sent off? Is it a thing just for keepers touching the ball outside the area? Come on, show my ignorance please!
Where's the defender behind him??? Are you Lee Mason?

You could vaguely argue about the defender in the middle, but it doesn't matter.
He could be on the goalline and it wouldn't affect the decision.
Being one-on-one with a defender and no keeper is the same as being one-on-one with the keeper and no defender.
Not sure what Howe's on about for the case of it being a yellow. Total nonsense.

Howe's now a record breaker, though. First manager to lose ten in a row to Liverpool.
Combined with his suspiciously generous signings from them at Bournemouth?
Secret Scouser?

You could argue that Leicester are playing the best football in the PL atm. (As I type this United score :steam: .

Anyway I stick to what I just said despite the scoreline so maybe we should not be too hard on ourselves for the result against them.

You've got to laugh. After Leicester's luck last week v Spurs they should have been at least 3-0 up in the first 10 mins v United, but Noooo! United runaway and score!Very typical.

From the BBC commentary:

Leicester defender Wout Faes needs treatment after Marcel Sabitzer stands on his leg. "Should have been yellow," says Gary Neville.

If Neville says so I guess it must have been quite blatant! But I suppose nobody is surprised that it wasn't.

Just reminds you how absolute dogshit we were last week. Utd haven’t even gotten out of second gear and they’re cruising against this lot.

Take Maddison out of that Leicester team and they’re basically Southampton.
