I guess after today it showed we really are a mid table club with these players. So as we get replaced by Newcastle and United (and Brighton!) someone at our club had better get looking for defenders while saying goodbye to Harry and Sonny.New forwards? Well they cost money. Do we have any?

I bet Arsenal fans are wondering the same thing
Arsenal are wobbling. One point from Everton and Brentford

We should have got 0 from both. Horrible performances, too many players out of form at once and we've lost the ability to defend set-pieces for some reason.

If we don't beat City in midweek, I think we've blown it and need to settle for top 4, as well as trying to win the Europa League. Which I would have been very happy with at the start of the season in fairness. But it would feel a bit 'meh' having gotten ourselves in this position.

They're ****, though. Couldn't even score against our lot, who concede at least 2 every week.

We'll see, but I just feel like we've hit a rut at a bad time and don't see us doing enough to beat them in midweek. Obviously I want to be wrong, but I think they will beat Villa comfortably tomorrow and then the momentum swings their way heading into the Arsenal game with a 2-point gap.

PL top 4 was the primary aim (that is as good as done *** ) .
Everything else (entertaining play etc) is a bonus.

*** It would take a collapse akin to Spurs second third of
the 2011-12 season, to come close to blowing it.

I hope you're right! <laugh>

You’re still in a strong position despite a blip - and there’s no team looking capable of stringing a run together to go past you. City’s form has been mixed since they lost at home to Brentford just before the World Cup. The two games between the teams could be decisive, but City shouldn’t hold any fears. Two draws or a win apiece would leave Arsenal favourites

Newcastle draw their 5th game from their last 6. In that sequence, they've averaged a goal every other game.

They're extremely tough to beat but really nothing special overall. Just a shame we happen to be very easy to beat and even less special overall, or we'd be miles clear of them already.

Decent performance from us that half.

Can tell United are the more established top level team but we look a decent hard working counter attacking team.

No rolling around play acting rubbish and referees making players take a throw in from the right place are the big differences I have noticed
