Someone should just point out to them that they won trophies with Villas-Boas.
We sacked him because he wasn't good enough for us.
He quit over there because they're not good enough for him.

They did take the best team photo of all time though, I'll give them that:

Shame they're owned by Gazprom, which is part of Putin's crime network.
They're basically an even more Russian Chelsea.
An irrelevance prior to a massive blood-money injection.
To be (somewhat) fair to them, winning the Soviet league was arguably a tougher proposition than the Russian league

Look at when Zenit won the Soviet league in 1984: not only did they have to overcome the Moscow teams, but Dynamo Kiev (as they were back then), Dnipro, Dinamo Tbilisi and Dinamo Minsk were among the teams they were competing with

They probably gave it to Zenit Leningrad because it was the 60th anniversary of Vlad's death.
They also reached the cup final, funnily enough, losing to Dynamo Moscow, the KGB club.

It would mirror the bent nature of their relegation avoidance in 1967.
They finished last, but it was decided that it would be in poor taste to send them down.
Why? It was the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. Ok, then...
Leicester fans currently looking for important dates in the history of their city.

Poch trending on Twitter, he was the last time Villa time played but today it seems a battle between Leeds and Villa fans as to who wants him more.

Not sure either would overly appeal to him. Villa perhaps a little as I reckon there’s a few players who’d flourish under Poch but I still think he’d need some considerable persuasion (£££) to take that it and that’s if he’s not already in talks with any other clubs around Europe.

Gerrard has been sacked ... Pochettino the favourite to replace him ... maybe he thinks lo Celso and Lo Fatso can save their season along with Sessegnon :bandit:
