The Telegraph are claiming that a Premier League player has been arrested for rape.
Sorry, that should probably be another Premier League player, shouldn't it?
"The player is in his late 20s and is currently in custody being quizzed over an alleged attack which is said to have taken place last month.
The club has been contacted by Telegraph Sport and is aware the player is being questioned, but it declined to comment.
On 4 July, an allegation of rape of a woman in her 20s was reported to police," the Met Police said in a statement. "It was reported the alleged rape happened in June 2022."
Police said the man was arrested "at an address in Barnet on suspicion of rape and taken into custody where he remains".
The player is internationally renowned and it is unclear whether he will now play in his club's pre-season fixture schedule. The Premier League season begins on August 5 and the player is also due to play at the World Cup in Qatar this November"

I think Kane and Son are still out of the country, so that rules them out.
Late 20s and due to play at the World Cup rules out most of the rest of our squad.

Some people have speculated it could be Partey as he fits the criteria too and also wasn’t pictured in training today. In any case, this is really ****ing awful news and I am praying it isn’t true.
This could be BS, as the source has very few followers/no track record of reliability, but this tweet is ominous and the timing of it…well…

True, and to be fair, it does say the individual was arrested at an address in Barnet, not necessarily that he lives there. However, some of the stuff I’m reading isn’t too promising…
Obviously, it doesn’t really matter even if it is a Spurs or Arsenal player, as this is bigger than sport and they should have the book thrown at them for such disgusting behaviour, regardless of who it is. But naturally, you don’t want anyone associated with your club to be involved in something like this.
I just hope the victim gets the support she needs.

Mail are claiming the player is 29. I'm not sure of all the teams at the World Cup so forgive me for being lazy but these are 29 year olds playing for London clubs.

Davies and Lucas are 29, although they are two of the last people I'd ever think would be caught up in something like this.

Elneny is Egyptian and they didn't qualify. Ziyech retired from international football.
Coufal's Czech and they didn't make it, either. Lanzini hasn't played for Argentina since 2019.
Zaha's Ivory Coast side didn't qualify and you're right about Jamaica not making it.
