Tbf Leicester also sponsored by their owners and Newcastle used to be sponsored by Sports Direct with the stadium etc.

Part of the fun for me is watching clubs like Spurs better these
clubs in the PL and UEFA land (whether by out-performing
them / due to their eff-ups on-pitch) .

And whenever it happens, these clubs should be
extensively ridiculed via "what a waste of money" .

Newcastle was almost the reverse. They were essentially sponsoring Sports Direct.
Ashley plastered their **** all over the place and paid them **** all! <laugh>
Typical Chelsea scumbag.

It has been true for decades (possibly forever) that money decided who was the most successful team. The only difference now is that it's more blatant and more extreme. Outside England each league has had two or three clubs that have dominated and rarely does anyone else get a look in. In England the domination has varied a bit and, lately, dodgy money has enabled Chelsea and Man City to push Everton out of the top clubs. Spurs are pretty much unique in Europe in winning lots of cups while being miles off the pace as League championship contenders.
