Also, one thing I am seeing a lot of is people saying Newcastle fans 'deserve success' which I don't agree with entirely.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for them that Mike Ashley has buggered off, but the idea that they now 'deserve' to be subsidised and owned by a oil state is flawed.

There are tonnes and tonnes of football clubs who don't win anything, there is only a handful of trophies to compete for and there are plenty of fans who have endured some serious **** teams with crappy owners that have tried to run them into the ground.

No fan 'deserves' or has a divine right to success (especially relatively instant success). That's entitlement.
It's similar to the line we heard for decades about how Liverpool "deserve" to win the league

Also a line regularly heard from Michael Oliver a couple of seasons ago when asked why he awarded them yet another penalty

I can totally get why the Newcastle fans are buzzing about this.
It’s bad enough having to pay a minimum of £4.99 for delivery (or store collection!!) from any of Mike Ashley’s retail stores, so it must have been torture with him running their football club.
Good luck to them. <ok>

I've often heard that the current FFP rules were not just designed to ensure what it says on the tin, but to stop any new clubs doing a Chelski / Citeh / PSG etc. Now lets see if it's true. And why it has been said. My feeling is that the following cunning logic will be used:

UEFA: You can't spend that amount, it exceeds your income and is against FFP.
Newcastle-Arabia: No it doesn't.
UEFA: Oh OK then.

Of course the written explanation may in fact be printed on large numbers of Euro notes. This is really a sad day for football, and you can be sure that football loving organisations such as Sky Sports and TalkShite will be right on top of it, bringing you the huge downside to all this. Except they won't, they'll just be wondering when they can start talking about the "Big 5".

The Saudis will just say :

1. You didn't punish the UAE or Qatari lot, but you will to us ??

2. If the answer to 1 is yes, we have far deeper pockets
(for "brown envelopes" or legal counsel - take your pick) .

France v Belgium. What a game! Another pot for our goalie? Shame he can't win one at Spurs! (He should have saved the Chelsea cuckoo's right foot shot!)

And if The FA had a pair they'd say

1.) What are you going to do about it?

2.) Would you like to look to your left and wave to the camera?

There’s a heavy bias towards northern teams in this country and always has been, it’s the opposite to politics in that sense.

I still remember Andy Gray used to repeatedly say the North East was the Hotbed of English Football, even in the mid 00s which was dominated by London teams and you even had West Ham/Millwall making FA Cup Finals.

We should join the Super League.

I dont care what anyone says…the English football pyramid without the big 6 is half the beast financially and aesthetically. The big 6 attract the majority of the worldwide attention. We should be up for rejuvenating the SL if and when it crops up again. Let Newcastle become the big fish as we watch the Prem morph into the Scottish league. The only clubs that can remotely compete would be part of the top 6. The Worldwide audience will want to watch the SL…if you’ve been watching football for the past 20 years minimum then you will know that the fans will turn in to watch the SL.

I believe we owe it to football to speed up the process and allow it to destroy itself…we dont win **** all anyway.

Chelsea and City are very upset that someone else is going to do what they've done.
How dare another club get bought up by utter scumbags and clean their bloodmoney over here?
They can't even kill journalists without getting caught. Bloody amateurs.

Other potential stuff:

In a couple of years a lot of the Newcastle supporting callers to TalkShite will have London accents.

Perhaps the owners (who as we know are most certainly not the Saudi state) will even invoke the "Milton Keynes" rule to move the club to London if some of their targeted players won't move to the North East.

In 10 years time all the massive money injection that got Newcastle to the top will be forgotten, and the pundits will be talking about their "entitlement" to trophys.
