Liverpool fans in real life seem knowledgeable and decent

Liverpool fans on social media are right up there with Arsenal fans for being the most annoying and gobby

I’d agree with this. It’s completely irrational on my part but I’d say a good 90% of my dislike for the club comes from the internet. Not specifically here, I’ll point out. And every club has their insufferable online fans, of course.

Generally I ****ing hate pretty much everything about social media fandom both in football and culture/life though.

Jermaine Jenas suggests Deli should move on. I agree.Even though he's just 24,I believe he has become lazy and needs someone to give him a good kick in the pants somewhere else.

That overturn of the pen awarded to Brighton may be the most outrageous call I've seen in the PL. It's certainly up there. It looked fairly clearly to be a pen. It was anything but a clear error. And it was in favor of the club that set a record for being awarded pens last year. They were also plus seven goals in VAR decisions last year, second in the league for benefitting from VAR.

Why play the matches if the match fixing is going to be this blatant? And now Maguire is guilty of a foul in the box which would have been given as a pen for Man U nine times out of ten, at least. And of course VAR isn't interested. It's a farce.

To try to break this down a little farther, it's a clear and obvious error when you give a pen for a trip and VAR shows there was no contact, or when a player clearly got the ball before the man.

When there are three points of contact leading to a pen, it's almost impossible for there to be a clear and obvious error, and there certainly wasn't one in this case. When Pogba was awarded a pen against Dier, there were only two points of contact, one of which was a result of Pogba giving Dier an arm shiver. When the shoe was on the other foot, the consensus was that if a defender was fool enough to try to tackle from behind in the box, any contact would be penalized.
