I am going defend Noel, I won't dispute that he is a bit of tit at times, and his ego may exceed his actual ability, but lets be honest he is not the first person from the music business that you could level that at. Even if he had never made another record the 1st two Oasis albums already stand the test of time and deserve a place at musics top table.

As for his football views he is a fan and wears his heart on is sleeve, no one here can really be critical of him for that.

As for this clip anyone who nods to the Rutles when doing a Beatles cover is ok by me.

I've seen him say that he would swap all of his songwriting credits for having written Never Mind The Bollocks. I think he would be significantly in credit on half of that the album but it's all subjective.

I'm no great fan of Elvis or The Beatles but they've sold a lot more records than artists/bands that I prefer to them. So, maybe it's me who's wrong?

I do think he's a colossal twat, though...but hes not alone in that. Captain Sensible all but trade marked acting like one. I prefer Dave Vanian - he never gives interviews, hates publicity and just loves recording and being on stage and going home to his Mrs, daughter and motorcycles. My kind of guy.

No I am with you Brian, never been a fan of Elvis or any 50s rock 'n'roll, though I understand the influence they had on the bands that followed, I do like the mid period Beatles albums like Revolver and Rubber Soul, and with my 'mod' hat on I love the great English 60s bands like The Small Faces, The Kinks, and The Who, though I am too young to remember them in the 60s, and it was my love of The Jam that got me to go back to their influences and I think that the original 'mod' bands were better than the revivalists of 1979, (though I did like some of those too).

Anyway this is the wrong thread for this really and there is football this afternoon, which demands out attention

Oh dear Man Utd, from where will your inspiration come next season?
Had de Gea not made that mistake against Chelsea and Utd had won 1-0, wins v Huddersfield and Cardiff would have been enough for 3rd.
Even a team as bad as this Utd team couldn't mess that up.
Oh yes, they could.
This is the big disappointment. Utd had the most gilt-edged of gilt-edged opportunities and failed miserably.
