What a truly terrible post! To have that sort of hatred for other teams is bad enough but to wish their coach dead is beyond my comprehension. As for praying we don't win, that should carry a lifetime ban on supporting my lifelong club.

I assume the 92 is the number signed to their academy last summer.

Given they now have to sign UK resident kids, every PL club should engage
in bidding wars on signing/wage fees for every Chelsky target, whether
interested in signing them or not.

Matter of opinion but I agree their midfield is stronger especially as an attacking force while I think the attacks are about equal and our defence is stronger. But I wouldn't say it shows their strength in depth is a lot better than ours. Attacking midfield is where we have a back up weakness.

Erm….. Not sure why exactly why this is a response to me, but I guess you're seeking to highlight the wage differences. Yep. I'm familiar with that difference. We've somehow managed to minimise the effect of that difference though, at least for now. The bigger difference for me is quality in positions and depth of those positions. Put the positions in that picture, then compare with Spurs and you'll notice where are squad is light in comparison. Sturridge and Origi have their critics, but they have managed to come into games as substitutes or cover and scored key match winning, point scoring, goals.

Both squads have areas of weakness that need to be addressed.

Robertson was rested for both of Liverpool's domestic cup games this season and has played in all but three of their other fixtures.
They went out at the first hurdle and don't have proper cover for him, having to move Milner there or rely on Moreno, who is ****.
Alexander-Arnold is similar, as their record without him suffers quite badly, too.
Missed the first leg against Barca and both cup games, for example.

I hope that folks who claim that we have strength in depth are now looking at the Liverpool squad and realising the difference. This idea of not being able to get cover for Kane because, "He's so good!", needs to die a death. If we aren't buying someone, we need to be promoting someone.

Liverpool have an embarrassment of goal scoring options in forward positions, and even have CMs that score. It seems that this is what you need to best compete at high levels, on top of a solid defence.

If we manage to beat both Ajax and Liverpool in the CL, I'll be happy to eat these words, of course. Let's see….

I on the other hand have always had a soft spot for Liverpool because Shankley, Paisley and ***an is the proper way to manage a football team and they always understood the nature of football and it's importance to their fans. They came from the same place.
Anyone who was a round when the Munich disaster happened will know the impact that had. For me as a small boy the death of so many famous footballers changed my view of the world forever. United and Liverpool are two huge names in English football and for many they are English football.

I am proudest of Spurs of course for their contribution to exciting football and as the pioneers of what became total football and being the first English club to win European honours. Spurs come first for me, but respect for the opposition and their contribution to this amazing sport is part of the game as far as I am concerned. I am not at war here, this is the most exciting ball game in the world, it is there to be enjoyed.

Any great rivalry is always based on respect, Spurf (however grudgingly).
Both clubs have had success because they have had great players, managers and coaches - and the clubs have been well run. That has to be acknowledged.
The rivalry has an added edge because, football aside, the cities have always been in competition and been rivals. During the time of the Industrial Revolution and the decades afterwards, both cities were huge centres of trade. Much of the labour force was made up of Irish immigrants (a common denominator). Victorian society was founded on a desire to achieve, succeed and gain status. The two cities were centres of wealth and prosperity. The ambition to be top dog was concentrated on industry then; today football has replaced that, but the underlying rivalry has always been maintained.

Cos Jan didn't hit the crossbar on the 87th minute and Son didn't hit the post in the first half so yep we were lucky ...

Lucky that only they hit the post.
Lucky Winks was injured.

Lucky that Son was missing from the first leg.
