if we show some of the heart and belief your team showed tonight then we have a very good chance

Ajax are beatable...its up to us...how much will we fight for it

Well done tonight
We beat them 1-3 with Marc Falco scoring twice in 1981 I think it was so I'm clinging on to that.

8 is my number, Come On You Spurs.

I'm guessing it must just be me then but I ****ing hate the mousers and whilst I could just about handle the thought of losing a champions league final to Barcelona, the thought of losing to those cheating, diving scouse ****s means I'm now praying we don't win tomorrow. Oh and as for Klopp he can **** off and die as well :emoticon-0121-angry
Very vicious, calm down for goodness sake. Wishing someone dead because he's a football coach? Come on.

If we get to the final, its anyones game. If we get there it means we have had alot of great moments to take heart from also. As a club we should be hungrier than Liverpool, we would definately be underdogs and i prefer that. They have only beaten us by the odd goal in both games this season. If we get there its game on.

Barca werent ready for the classic Premier League tempo...we are. My only concern is injuries.

First things first though...tommorow is massive for our club.

Well done Liverpool. It needs to be said. Clearly the better team on the day. <applause><applause><applause>

I hope that folks who claim that we have strength in depth are now looking at the Liverpool squad and realising the difference. This idea of not being able to get cover for Kane because, "He's so good!", needs to die a death. If we aren't buying someone, we need to be promoting someone.

Liverpool have an embarrassment of goal scoring options in forward positions, and even have CMs that score. It seems that this is what you need to best compete at high levels, on top of a solid defence.

If we manage to beat both Ajax and Liverpool in the CL, I'll be happy to eat these words, of course. Let's see….

Have you seen the Ajax team LockStock? Morale is sky high, 4 goals last week, hell, on paper it looks like a mauling. If we do win it it won't be with skill and form, it will be lady luck. Everything points to them doesn't it? Liverpool turned it round with Salah so let's hope we can without Kane. I'm hoping that qualification for the CL has boosted our morale and that we can give them a good game but even if we don't go through I'm very happy with what we've done in the CL this season. Well done but Come On You Spurs.

Were Liverpool "lucky" last night? I'd argue they just outplayed Barcelona, who everything also pointed to. Are Liverpool a better team than Barcelona, on paper? I'm not sure really.

I'd say, at this level, it can go in any direction depending on who actually shows up.

I'd say we have a bigger chance against Ajax that Liverpool had against Barcelona. Let's just hope our team shows up with the right work rate and work ethic.

Neres is reportedly injured, Ziyech and Mazraoui are both fasting for Ramadan, and Salah wasn't on the pitch last night

Berk.

Erm….. Not sure why exactly why this is a response to me, but I guess you're seeking to highlight the wage differences. Yep. I'm familiar with that difference. We've somehow managed to minimise the effect of that difference though, at least for now. The bigger difference for me is quality in positions and depth of those positions. Put the positions in that picture, then compare with Spurs and you'll notice where are squad is light in comparison. Sturridge and Origi have their critics, but they have managed to come into games as substitutes or cover and scored key match winning, point scoring, goals.

No, Liverpool weren't lucky last night but they did follow the tradition of scoring early to overcome a three goal deficit as has happened before.

I'm still hoping Christian will score against his old team, one last flourish before he leaves us.

As have Llorente and Moura.
Do you really think Origi, Sturridge and Shaquiri are lots better than Llorente, Moura and Lamela? Or that Lovren and Matip are better than Sanchez and Foyth? A game between our reserve teams would be hard to call. Just as a game between our first teams is. Man City have some non first choice players who might improve our first team but no-one else is really stronger in depth than we are.

So if we get to the final you'd drop Eriksen then <laugh>or sell him. <laugh>
No, I didn't say I'd sell him did I? I didn't come anywhere near it as he's probably off anyway or haven't you heard? The last flourish pertains to ex players scoring for their old clubs.

It's interesting to look at Liverpool's players involvement in last summer's WC...

Alisson - came home early
TAA - went hardly played;
VvD- didn't qualify
Matip - not selected
Lovren - runner up.
Robertson - didn't qualify
Milner - retired from internationals
Wijnaldum - didn't qualify
Keita - didn't qualify
Fabinho - not selected
Mane - didn't qualify
Firmino - came home early
Salah - came home early
Origi - hardly played
Shaquiri - made KO rounds, home early.

The majority of their squad had some rest this summer and a fair few got a pre-season. Our squad are running on fumes and regularly suffering injuries which is unsurprising. It makes a big difference, especially with recurring injuries to Lamela, Aurier, Davies, Winks and Wanyama who didn't go to Russia.

Add this to what I said on the PL board (that if the Poool had taken the domestic
cups more seriously their PL pts tally would have been closer to 3rd-6th due to
squad weakness - only Citeh can seriously contest for the quadruple) .

Assuming the Inger-Spurs are brave enough to tell Southgate to eff off
regarding summer international duty, we shall see what that + transfer activity
does for Spurs next season.

That's an interesting concept so here are the teams as I see them and on paper the Liverpool XI does look stronger than ours particularly in midfield
Gazza
Foyth Sanchez Davies
Aurier Wanyama Dier KWP
Lamela Llorente Lucas

Origi Sturridge Shaqiri
Wijnaldum Lallana Oxlade-Chamberlain
Moreno Lovren Gomez Hoever
Mignolet
