Back in the early 70's, I remember my namesake running a competition on The Big Match for viewers to write Chelsea a song for the fans to sing at the 1972 League Cup Final because.......they didn't have one! That is how 'Blue is the Colour' was created.

..........The programme did the same for The Gooners a year previously, for the same reason. That's how the world has been left with 'Good Old Arsenal'.....

The lack of innovation in our neighbours songs is shocking.
Reason enough IMHO for them to be relegated from the PL.

Why would Chelsea feel as though they live in Spurs shadow? We don't own oil wells......but I guess we are the cream of London!

City fans usually hate Utd - we are their only real rivals (except when Oldham were beating them regularly in the old Second Division).
They've a huge chip on their collective shoulders despite their current success.
But this week, they are sooo pro-Utd.
It's a love-in :emoticon-0152-heart
"Really hoping you beat Liverpool on Sunday to put us back in charge in the title race."
"Yeah, we'll do our best. Really hope you finish above them"
It's just weird.
<smooch>

LDL, cleanse yourself by holding the following thought in your head this week :

If we beat the Poool we may be doing Spurs a great service.

No doubt, I agree.
I think most City fans have discounted Spurs with the gap to make up and you having to play them and Liverpool away.
But you know which (of the three) I'm rooting for!

The Arsenal song competition was to write words to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory. Unfortunately they didn't spot that the tune was still in copyright, so the words of Good Old Arsenal were knocked up at the last minute by the Big Match staff. It shows.....

<laugh> If I knew that, I'd long since forgotten it. It is truly terrible on every level and fully fitting for the club.

The filthy Goon scum fans have been having a moan again, but this time it looks like they've actually got reason to.
Their Europey match against the Eastern European Tractor Factory is kicking off at 5.55pm GMT. It's at home.
That's ridiculous, though the whining about their season ticket holders being forced to buy tickets for it is aimed poorly.

Is it because Chelsea are also playing at home that night and were given preference, as they're not playing a team whose name is a wi-fi password?

Chelsea are playing Malmo FFS. Sorry, Malmo FF.
I don't really see why it's an issue that they clash, to be honest. The club clearly care more about a few quid than their fans.

Our old friends Lazio have been casually dispatched from the Europa League by Sevilla

Luckily the second leg was played in Seville, so their fans won't be getting as much of a kicking
They went down to ten men on the hour, after Franco Vasquez picked up a second yellow.
Lazio fans will be ecstatic that their own player evened it up ten minutes later, as they were chasing a solitary goal.
What a ****ing idiot.

Milinkovic-Savic went off just ten minutes into the second half

He must be unhappy. Quick, make a bid!!!
