My next favourite...got another for my birthday when I was in my late 30s.
On my 40th my girls and Mrs. RCL took me to see Steve Perryman at a book signing (was my biggest childhood hero)...he signed it for me and over the past 12 years I also met Ricky Villa and Tony Galvin and they have also signed it.
One of my treasures.
Coys

Does anyone remember Stan Matthews coming to town with Blackpool and signing autographs for us at the Coop Stores at High Road and Lansdowne Road. I've still got mine. I think mid 1950's.
He would come to town much later as a 50 year old with Stoke City.....

It's a weird game at Anfield. Plenty of action, pace clearly causing both sides problems but a massive lack of quality all over the pitch. Players running into temmates, loose passes to the opposition, poor finishing, not much in the way of shape from either side. It's a bit like watching a souped up school playground match.

Weirdly not a single Saltypool player has an average of 6.0 or above on the BBC

I'm going to suggest that some rival fans have been playing silly buggers...

A dull match, for 2 sides that are massively overhyped for the quality of their play it was predictably poor. Too many individual errors and neither keeper made a save of note (though Allison was in the right place for the ball hit him in the first half). Fancy that the mousers will sneak through with a score draw in Munich.

An hour? The five minutes on Youtube is going to be a big effort.
I gave up and watched a Friday Night Live' from 1988 on youtube. Guess what, the Labour party were in disarray because of defectors, the Tories had won their third election on the trot, the NHS was in disarray, Israel and Palestine were giving each other sh!te and Stavros, the kebab shop owner was saying what a load of crap l'arse were playing............ nothing changes.

Back in the early 70's, I remember my namesake running a competition on The Big Match for viewers to write Chelsea a song for the fans to sing at the 1972 League Cup Final because.......they didn't have one! That is how 'Blue is the Colour' was created.

..........The programme did the same for The Gooners a year previously, for the same reason. That's how the world has been left with 'Good Old Arsenal'.....
