Across the whole team there's a lack of hustle but the actual defending has been very bad, very very bad. They created chances against Arsenal but were torn to shreds on the break. There's no defensive shape or plan. They look like us when we lose our heads in away games in Europe - unable to hold the ball and as jittery as hell.
That's what happens when you buy a million players and chuck them in together.
They don't look like a team, because they're not a team.
They haven't had time to become one and the constant chopping and changing hasn't helped that.

How was it ours to win? We were never top. We only managed to narrow the gap by winning 10 out of 13 games.
Leicester lost one match from the 29th of December til the end of the season.
Arsenal were top in January. It was theirs to win.
As I said,we screwed up,as usual.

Leicester were 11 pts ahead of us at the end, if we had won the last 4 matches we would have got to 80 - they were not being caught at that point.

The losses v The Saints and the Geordies were disappointing, but the league had gone by then and the players having given everything to that point collapsed it happens.

I don't think that it's the defence, so much as the defending throughout the team.
They need a more stable back four and some grit in the middle of the park, as well as using their wide men better to scare opponents.
Schurrle and Sessegnon breaking against you should be bloody terrifying. It's too slow at the moment.

They were doing alright against the team entitled to be runners-up until the refs intervention! Even then the second best (TM) attackingest team only managed to "score" 2 (one of which shouldn't have counted).

Reactions: The Changing Man
Looks like the chavs are in line for a 4 window transfer ban, quite fitting really, 4 windows where the youngster's might now be in with a chance. A 16 window ban might have been more appropriate though.

It was surprising to see them chucking money about last summer, given that there was another non-CL season coming up and they failed to move on Drinkwater, Cahill and the like.

They must have known that this was coming and I'd presume that they'll have January to get done what they want before a truncated ban takes effect. It won't help Roman to sell the thing to some gullible American though.

The last couple of seasons have been a disappointment to me.We should have accomplished something instead of being the "nearly boys"! The management pushed for the PL at the expense of the cups.I didn't agree with that.Success breeds success!....so off we go this season giving Liverpool and City 3 points each.Amazingly,we're not far off them in the table and not playing well, injuries or no. If only.....
In the past we should have won the league in 1959/60 (which may have cost us the double in 1960/1.) 1961/2 and 1962/3(the freeze cost us that season!).
We were only a couple of points from the double in 1966/7.
League wise in the 90's and into the 2000's,until recently, our performances were pretty ordinary.
What is it we lack.Steel?Attitude?Desire? The fans have this if the players don't.Over the years I think the fans have been let down.Oh yes,we've had players we will never forget and many that we will.
Hate to say this but in the past,Arsenal would raise my mum's tea set, anything, while we...…….!?

Smithy,

We lack money. We don't have a country or a major crook laundering money through our club. If you look at successful clubs in major footballing countries they have one common factor, they're the richest clubs and can afford to buy better players and pay better wages.

Our borrowing facility now stands at £623m. That would be the largest debt in world football that's going to have to be repaid. Winning the FA Cup nets you about £5m. Last season's CL campaign netted us about £65m.

The game was about glory, now it's mostly about money.

Jokanovic picked Chambers in a defensive midfield role and it offered their backline more protection than it's been getting.
Liverpool looked rather devoid of ideas and were struggling. The loss to Red Star and awful atmosphere probably contributed.
The second goal absolutely killed Fulham, though. They just lost all fight.

If there was an award for the best and most consistent team over the last 4 years, Spurs would win it.
But to win a title, you needed to have peaked in one of those seasons.

You also need officials to turn several dozen blind eyes to things such as elbowing opponents in the face when defending a corner, players tripping over their shoelaces in the opponent's penalty area in spite no defender being within a foot of them, or scoring a goal in spite being several yards offside...

We have no chance then. I would imagine Levy's contributions to the referees benevolent fund is about 0.5% of the chavs or Citeh or even the mousers.

Yup .The only reason you boys haven't won a title is because you are the only team not to have the refs in your pocket!

Arsenal's chief executive, Vinai Venkatesham says that 'they' "have to be in the conversations. It doesn't necessarily mean we support them."

Him speak with fork tongue.
