We have high hopes for Chelsky being the
new Spanners. We shall see in April.
I'm still trying to instigate a rivalry with Marseilles after that summer where they stalled on our bids for Batshuayi as they waited in hope for a larger offer to help them meet their FFP demands, then taking even more of the piss by dicking us around for over a month when we bid for GKN

Do you reckon that replacing Wenger will result in the same players producing success or is it a major rebuild?

Nah, we need a major rebuild. There needs to be a structural and philosophical overhaul at the club that isn't simply going to change overnight.

Although I do feel the current crop of players are playing within themselves, I actually look at our league position in the table, look at the teams above us and ask myself: realistically, which one of these teams are we objectively better than? The answer is none of them.

We have some aging players on long-term contracts that will be difficult to flog off, others whose heads have been turned, some who are suffering from a lack of confidence and many who aren't up the required standard.

Obviously, that doesn't excuse the ghastly displays which the fans have been forced to squeamishly watch.

But you can see that the more money we are spending, the worse we are getting. Previously, it was a case of Arsenal players making the same mistakes every year irrespective of personnel. Now it's a case of Arsenal players making more mistakes than I've ever seen before. Total kamikaze defending with no evidence of tactical nous at all.

So, yes, it is clear as day Wenger cannot inspire these players any longer, but he's also invested in some extremely poor signings.

Whoever we get in next has a huge job on their hands.

Strange they did so much transfer and contract business in January if there are plans to give a new manager money to spend in the summer.

2 signings:
  • Both previously signed by the new German recruitment guy;
  • Both ageing and on big money and long contracts;
  • Both are not naturally given to digging in and left their previous clubs on a downward turn;
  • Both have more than a whiff of Mesut Ozil about them.
Neither seem to be what was needed. Both are short term and exhibit traits that are already hurting the team. All very strange, unless they are being bought for a new manager who wants a core of players that he knows from German football?
