Thousands of empty seats at Arsenal...maybe owners will start realising they need to.lowet ticket prices. Looks piss poor on tv and you can literally hear a pin drop.

Ref denies WBA a stonewall penalty to play advantage.
Ref gives arsenal a stonewall free kick on edge of penalty box even though arsenal had advantage.
The inconsistency from refs within a match is mind boggling.

That is a WBA penalty.
If he had not been clipped and not stumbled,
THEN he might have had a more accurate
shot at goal.

If the ref is claiming there was no contact,
then the officials have effed up.

A Pullis team appears to be playing football. Should have had a penalty but good to see a player getting up and trying to play the game.

Although that level of incompetent officiating shows why most players don't bother. Madley's a terrible ref. It gave him an excuse to bottle giving a penalty to the away team.
I agree and it's outrageous that players have to 'act' to get the proper decision from the ref. We should be encouraging the kind of play Rodriquez (sp) displayed which is in the best traditions of the game. The penalty should have been awarded and the fact the player got up should be rewarded not penalised.

And it gets worse as an iffy penalty is awarded to Arsenal. This game has been decided by the ref. Very poor.

The authorities continue to bury their heads in the sand. Refs do decide games, it does not "even out over the course of a season". Unbelievable that the outcome of such a valuable commodity is decided subjectively.

All the ridiculous nonsense about how to implement the Video Assistant Referee is so much hot air. Mic the bloke up t the ref and linesman and whilst watching the live feed he just tells the ref when he's got major decisions wrong or the ref can ask him if there's a problem with a decision - penalties, bookings, sendings off, offside goals would seem to be the obvious ones.

The only issue would be that the VAR would not shut up when last night's idiot, Madley, is officiating. Still, last night's game was a farce and it was all down to him.

The WBA non-penalty shows how football could
learn from rugby union. In rugby, the ref lets play
continue beyond the infringement. If the player
scored, then job done. If not, then award the penalty.

Action against the infringing player (card etc) will
always happen regardless of which of the above
occurs.

All of the ref decision making would have happened
in 5 seconds max yesterday.
