Sadly, I think we all want to think that but 1 game isn't proof. At the moment I would have them as fav to beat City, if they dont then possibly the slide is more likely. 2 defeats in a row and they look tired it could be happening.
Levy went above Comolli's head to sign Modric, and Berbatov was signed at Jol's request. Kaboul, meanwhile, was quickly shipped out by Ramos - a manager that Comolli was adamant would be the man to take us to the next level. As for Boateng, anyone can look good with Gattuso and Van Bommel holding fort for them - Aquilani isn't doing too bad there either.
I've been reading some of the post's on the goon's board,it seems that wenger's love child, piskie and some of his follower's think that Gareth Bale's a diver.they must know what they are talking about, after all,the worst dives video on the liverpool board features Pires,Henry, viera and lehman,in terrible dives, and Gareth?,no, he,s not on the video
Although Bale came in under Comoli, it was a no-brainer, really, and quite a few sides were in for him. Even I would have signed Bale, and I know nothing about football.
I thought that, on the whole, Comolli did a good job for us, and was unfairly criticised by many Spurs fans. I thought Bent was a decent buy, but for various reasons, including a fair degree of bias against him from many of our 'supporters', it didn't work out. In the end it was for the best that Jol, Comolli and Ramos all left. All helped in ways and hindered in others.
Bale was an extremely obvious buy, to the point that we basically snatched him from under Ferguson's nose. He was quite a coup, despite his ****e early record at the club. Bent wasn't a good buy, not because he's not an effective player, but because we already had a fearsome strike force and could've spent the money on areas that needed it, instead. That's what I mean about Comolli buying good players, but not necessarily the right players. Bent's attitude is awful, too.
Bent was the worst buy possible, for the following reasons: 1.) Comolli was instructed to buy a striker if Mido and Defoe left 2.) Bent didn't fit in with our system or style of play 3.) Paying £16.5m for a striker who would, at best, be third-choice is madness 4.) Bent's arrival led to Defoe leaving the following January 5.) Darren Bent was clearly not hugged enough as a child, and it showed 6.) Nobody wanted to buy a shirt with "BENT" written on it...
1-0 to Barca. A relief they have started so well. If Milan sneak a 1-1 then I would not rule out Chelsea getting to the final. That would run the risk of them winning (although unlikely) and us having 3 places available. Luckily I can't see them having a chance against Barca.
Bayern are virtually through now. 1-0 on the night, through Olic, 3-0 on aggregate. It's a long way back for Marseille.
Although that was technically a foul, how often do you see them in every game, Lidls? Vidiv does about 5 of them every time he plays.
