Lucas v Paulinho - close

Brazil disagree.
The "unbiased" opinion of an Arsenal fan about Spurs? Really?
How do you see that Liverpool side lining up, by the way? Looks pretty wonky to me, however it's done. 2nd XIs would be pretty interesting, too.

Care to do Arsenal v Liverpool, Cini?

Pssh. Lloris is good but Mignolet is just as good. Walker brilliant? <whistle> 'Dawson and Enrique better than Agger and Enrique' is just WUMmish. No difference between Sandro and Lucas, both strong. Gerrard is so overrated, Dembele just as good. Eriksen better than Coutinho? Based on what?! Sturridge better than Soldado 'on current form'... why can't you just admit he's better full stop?? Why put 'on current form' after that one but not half the others? Because you don't want to admit your £28m striker isn't all that good?

You're trying to pick clear winners when there aren't any. Combine the two squads into an uber-squad and the only player who stands out as being significantly better than their counterpart would be Suarez (and I'd say any Spurs midfielder being better than Gerrard but that's just because I'm biased and think Gerrard is the biggest pile of cack ever). The rest are quite close and it will be down to form, tactics, morale and management. Fortunately for Arsenal Brenda is a numpty and AVB has stupid hair ;)

And where have I said that Gerrard has always been cack??

...try reading your previous quote. <ok>

Gerard was a great player, emphasis on the was. He's up to, if not past, his sell by date.i have always rated Sturridge and thought that we should have bid for him. Can be unnecessarily greedy, but he's been very good recently.

The way Cini has done his comparisons undermines his answers. If he'd watched enough of us and Liverpool then he wouldn't be comparing Paulinho with Lucas, or Gerrard with Dembele, or the left sided Agger against the right sided Kaboul, or Eriksen against Henderson, or Lamela against Coutinho, or Sturridge against Sigurdsson.

There are plenty of ways to compare teams but as we and Liverpool play very different formations it's hard to do a player for player match. What I would say though is that Dawson, Paulinho, Eriksen and Suarez would all comfortably get into eachother's side. Others you can pick and choose based on bias and taste but I think if those players were in eachother's squads they'd definitely start.

Where have I said Gerrard has always been cack? That line does not indicate I think he's alwaysbeen cack. <doh>

"I think he's the biggest pile of cack ever"

"always been cack"

....please explain the difference?....if you can!

Unbelievable your still trying to wriggle out of this fail!<doh>

The thing with 'Pool is that most of their squad have had time to gel, and yet haven't done anything special. Most of our squad hasn't had time to gel, and yet we're matching 'Pool at this early stage. Once our lads have had time to gel, it goes without saying that we're going to have not only the strongest squad but also the deepest.

Just... What? You want me to explain to you how two things that aren't the same, aren't the same??

Your squad is undoubtedly stronger than Liverpool's and probably United's too but not a patch on City's squad, probably not Chelsea's either.

You're going to get better as the season progresses but there's nothing to suggest Liverpool can't either. Love him or hate him, Suarez is probably the only genuine world class player in the PL and the closest thing we have to a Messi/Ronaldo. His consistency and appetite for the game is almost unrivalled.

That said, by next season IMO you'll have a proven world class midfielder of your own in Paulinho. He's a special player and light years ahead of most midfielders of his type. He's your Yaya Toure.

And now Mourinho has a meltdown over the non selection of De Bruyne. Who knew buying seven or eight similar players would cause problems <laugh>?

That's what you call a meltdown?

Anyone with a clue about football can see that other than Willian/Hazard and Oscar/De Bruyne, all of the midfielders are different with completely different skillsets. Did AVB have to justify the exclusion of Lamela or Moyes with Kagawa? Press have nothing better to talk about now the transfer window has closed so just want a story. Yellow Journalism.

Unbelievable.

Ozil isn't world class, DL?

Or Mata?

Or Lloris?

How about RVP?

Or any number of City's squad?

If Suarez was that good, he'd be able to carry 'Pool like Bale did us, or RVP did AFC and United. He can't, so I rate him less than WC.

Mata's better than Suarez and he doesn't have the baggage that goes along with it.
The Uruguayan's an excellent player, but he's also a massive liability. His comeback statement was virtually, "I'll do my best for now, then I'm off as soon as possible".
Even by modern footballer standards he's a massive twat.

Are you feeling alright? Stating an arsenal player is world class?!

Anyway I'll take your omission of Giroud from your world class list as simple carelessness ay?

Guessing you think all the criticism he has got has been as you say "harsh".
