We struggled to break sides down under Redknapp, too and he was a very, very different manager to Villas-Boas.

True, but to take it further the chances were made, and crosses went begging, poor finishing by out of form strikers was our problem with Harry, under AVB its not enough decent chances made.

If Ozil is worth £42M, what are Real Madrid selling him for?

Seems like they've made the most of Arsenal's desperation. So indirectly Arsenal have paid half the fee for Bale? Crazy.

Today is pretty much a sign of things to come for Bale if things don't go his way - Kaka had two years left on his contract but was released on a free (having been 2009's shiny toy, at a cost of £56m) whilst Ozil is being unceremoniously shunted off because the Spanish government told Real they can't loan Factitious the money as they need to build a new motorway.

We made loads of crosses yesterday :undecided:

Even under 'Arry, when teams sat back against us we would struggle to break them down. Defoe, Pav and Crouch weren't missing sitters every week, they just were putting themselves in the wrong positions in the box.

Piskie's hatred of the spurs is unrivalled on the Arsenal board.

Who knows what HIAG really thinks of Arsenal, I've never actually seen a serious post from him

<applause>

Thank you, Krome.

Anyone with a brain can see that I am playing with everyone, but that PESKIE is a real nasty piece of work.

I don't hate Arsenal or its fans, I have only ever wanted to engage in banter. PESKIE, on the other hand, has some real mental issues with Spurs and us Yids (and me, in particular).

I have always been confident that, over time, the real story would come out, and that ordinary, sensible fans would come to see and appreciate the real evil at work on this site. There is a certain, very small contingent of knuckle-dragging fans (and we all know who they are) who despise intelligent witty comment and are petrified of it, because it holds up a mirror to the blackness at the heart of their own personalities, and the gaping hole in their intellect.

Wow, I see what you mean.

I went to the Arsenal board. Some of the posts are demonic. A certain minority are really twisted and have deep rooted insecurities.

I feel for you HIAG.

It's bullying.

When you look at the prices paid for Falcao, Cavani, Willian, Lamela, Herrera if it goes through, Fernandinho, Higuain, then £42m is unfortunately what Ozil is worth in this market..

AVB has the players he wants. He deserves 1-2 years of support, I would say, not for his sake but for ours. I thought he did a very good job getting as many points as he did out of last year's squad. Bale's brilliance in the last 1/3 of the year was a big part of it, but not all, or I would say even most of it. To be fair, he created a team more like Mourinho's than anyone else: a strong team that was tough to beat and score against, but not really a fluid, attacking side as many would prefer.

But the past is prologue, and the question is what he does with this group of players. I tend to believe he'll do well with them, eventually. The biggest problem is that the ante continues to rise. There are now six teams who are a reasonable choice for top four, and all of them, except Man U at the moment, have strengthened considerably.

Some ITK pillock on Twitter posted this:

Ex Pro @ProAgentFA
@Joey7Barton is set for a move to West Ham #WHUFC

He got a quick and probably accurate response:

Joseph Barton ✔ @Joey7Barton
@ProAgentFA no he's not mate...

Barton himself knocking that one on the head! <laugh>

Thank you.

I think our mods did wake up to that fact and have acted accordingly, and I thank them also for that.

Big news from Andy Hunter

"Marouane Fellaini has just left Everton's Finch Farm training ground having handed in a transfer request to manager Roberto Martinez."

Nicklas Bendtner to Palace

Is up in the air as Dom Fifield reported as the deal is done but for Arsenal's consent as they are still trying to sign a centre-forward. Palace are reported also to have a central midfielder arriving to negotiate a transfer.

That actually brings up an interesting point, how does a man with such a big afro buy the right car LOL

The Goons are getting all giddy over Ozil

ARSENAL'S FORWARD THINKING

France football writer Matt Spiro: "With Arsenal's move for Demba Ba collapsing, will Arsene Wenger turn to the foreign league he knows best for a late deal?

"One striker he would surely be able to sign if he wanted to is Olivier Giroud's France colleague Bafetimbi Gomis.

"Lyon have spent much of the summer trying to sell Gomis, who has one year left on his contract and is refusing to sign an extension. Their talks with Newcastle fell through a month ago, however. The powerful attacker, 28, has never been prolific but consistently weighs in with 10-20 goals a season.

"Nice striker Dario Cvitanich could be another possibility. The Argentine poacher scored 19 goals in his first Ligue 1 season last year and has been seeking a move this summer. However, it is un likely Nice would sell at this stage.

"The alternative of course for Wenger would be to keep Nicklas Bendtner at the club." ..... <laugh>

Meanwhile all quiet at Old Trafford

Spain football writer Andy West: "Spanish radio station Cadena Cope is claiming that Manchester United have seen a bid of €40m for Sami Khedira rejected by Real Madrid, making the Germany international approximately the 612th La Liga midfielder that United have failed to sign this summer.
