Just saw this quote from a Gooner, over on their board, and it made me laugh so hard that I had to share it with you all.

I bet Mata wished he came to us!

Yeah, that's right, pal. He could be earning less wages and still winning nothing!
<doh>

What a plank!

For the first time this season AFC go above us, and all of a sudden they've forgotten just how dreadful they've been, and how they've only clung on to the top 4 because RVP is having the best season of his career, and has miraculously remained free from injury.

Don't forget to mention your worse start to a season for 10000 years. Seems to be the mantra over there lately.

Papering over the cracks guys. We're still a work in progress, albeit frustrating progress at times.

"top 4 because RVP is having the best season of his career "

so robin van persie is better than the entire spurs team .

good aint it ?<rofl><rofl><rofl><rofl>

my sig gets funnier every day HIAG , thanks.

It's plainly obvious that your current position is down to the efforts of one man and one man only. Without him, where would you be?

Just wanted to say that myself & Piskie are probably the only 2 gooners to continually believe in our club since day 1. We were ridiculed by most of the others posting on our board as being deluded Wengerites etc... For this reason I don't think any of the plastic glory hunters should be given a chance to gloat on your board; Jamrag, Dutch Bergkamp and their cronies. They haven't the right.

It's going to be a tense run-in to the end of the season now and I for one am hoping we get the chance to meet in the CL next year :)

Speaking of luck (or lack of it). Just checked the match reports of our last 3 league matches against Everton, Utd and Stoke on the bbc webby, and the match stats for each game showed we played all 3 off the park, BUT unfortunatly it's whats on the scoreboard after 90 mins that counts.

Tonight we had 71% posession, 18 shots on target to 2 and 13 corners to 1.

Has Harry ever thought of hiring a set piece coach or 2?:undecided:

Could really have done with Beckham, eh :(

It is baffling that, the more possession and chances we have, the less likely we are to win the game - usually doubling the rival keepers' transfer value while we're at it.

I think it's been more about the run in on games and how cocky we got. We were bottom after 2 games and then went on an unbeaten run until Stoke beat us because we went into the game cocky and went 2 nil down with ease. Arsenal were trying different set ups and that affected their start. Again went in cocky v Arsenal and lost but this time we didn't have an 'easy' game to help pick us back up. This is why we are in a rut and Arsenal are in form. If we beat Arsenal they wouldn't have one the last 4 games. Maybe 1 or 2 max but because they saw what they can do if they just play instead of worrying about the game they can win. Basically we kick started their season again.

I know we mock about RVP but you need the team to work enough so he can do what he does best and the same goes for us but we score from all over the park because we need the whole team to gel for us to score. Arsenal can win a game through RVP with half the team playing poorly. If we have one player off form it seem to affect the whole team. Maybe that's the problem with working 'as a team'.

Since nobody else has mentioned it: Chelsea youngster Jacob Mellis (read: Sheffield United youngster poached by Chelsea) was sacked for letting off a smoke grenade at their training ground, meaning anyone with a memory span can point out that a youth teamer doing something stupid gets their contract terminated, but when a first teamer does something stupid - for the sake of argument, let's say Ashley Cole shooting somebody with an air rifle at their training ground - they get a light tap on the wrist.

You talking about funny quotes?

K.

Me too, as long as you get through the qualifying round <whistle>.

By the way, good job at finding the biggest wum of a name frrom Real Mrs C>Half full>Wumpole of the Bailey. Isn't it strange to have a name that ridicules your rivals, rather than bigging up your own team? You have never had any Arsenal references in your name, very strange that.

The worst thing about the sacking of Mellis is that there was another (better) player involved and he wasn't sacked, Croydon.

Probably not, HD.
He committed a sackable offence and the other player didn't commit exactly the same one, so he wouldn't have much of a case.
Mellis set off the smoke grenade, whereas the other player (Billy Clifford) brought it to the ground.

Inconsistent, but they're probably trying to stop these things from happening, as there have been a few recently, whilst not having to get rid of Clifford.
I'm sure Mellis will sign for someone else pretty quickly, anyway. Hopefully he'll have learned his lesson, too.

We're screwed. Lawro has tipped us to win tomorrow. Might as well pick a reserve team and concentrate on future games. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Tipped us to win when we haven't won there for how long and in our worst form of the season - you just couldn't make it up <laugh>
