They're not gone yet and they're only in contention because Sunderland sacked O'Neill several weeks after I said that they were going down.
Not that the two are connected, of course, but I'm glad I didn't put any money on it. They were a banker.

Villa will almost certainly lose to Man Utd at Old Trafford on Monday, then they've got to play Paolo's Blackshirts at Villa Park the following Monday. Massive game now.
Away to Norwich, home to Chelsea and they finish on what could be a decider at the DW.

I'd agree with you in theory, but the other side that hasn't had a single penalty in the Prem this season is Swansea.
Both teams have a lot of possession and tricky, pacy wingers, so it seems pretty odd.

If the officials aren't bribed, intimidated or picked for their known bias, it counts as luck. If they are, then luck had nothing to do with it.

Great news Aguero escapes ban, I for one blame Luiz for putting Aguero's studs in danger

FFS now he'll be able to play on Sunday, where is the justice? <whistle>

We have no luck DL, so it's not surprising!

Next thing we'll be hearing, is that every premier league club is allowed "Hawk eye" except for us, just so we can be laughed at with more ghost goals! <laugh>

Just to be clear, was Aguero let off because the ref saw it so they are not allowed to take retrospective action? So I assume he will now play on Sunday and score, or injure one of our players or something like that. NB if Foy did see the incident, what action will the FA take against him for failing to impose the rules?

Who exactly is the FA trying to protect with this rule. I understand it was agreed with other interests before the season but how many of them would object if the FA overturned it?

NB still annoyed by the Arsenal wrong decision on Saturday. Remember whenever a pundit says otherwise, "the table does lie".

Interesting stat for Swansea, can't speak for their cup games, but we haven't had one there either and we've been in Europe compared to them, odd as you say though.

The odd thing is how Luiz has flip-flopped.

Immediately after the game he was saying it wasn't terrible, how Aguero isn't that sort of player, and how he didn't even see it (see here) but he soon changed his tune once the press picked up on it.

The FA doesn't take action against refs for not enforcing the rules

Just look at the manchild Webb getting away with sending off Adebayor for trying to win the ball and not sending off Balotelli for stamping on Parker

Good spot, I only read it online somewhere, I thought I heard it on tv too, may have been just the PL, still, 1 for the season is ****, especially when its taken by Dempsey! We've conceded 3 though, and I noticed United have conceded 0, well there's only 19 games to worry about I suppose, what ref's gonna give one at OT!

We also didn't get awarded a single penalty in the league at WHL last season, bizarrely.

Or was told what conclusion to come to.

Obviously I was too subtle in my implications...

I know what you implied, but I was implying that your implication is stupid.

You basically said he didn't see it then changed his mind when he did see it. What's wrong with that?

Just thinking about this Arse v Everton Game tonight.
Surely a draw has gotta be the best result for us?

That'd put The Goons on 60pts, having played 33 games, and Everton on 56 having also played 33 games.

Therefore we'd be 2 points behind The Goons with a game in hand (against city unfortunately), but 2 clear of Everton, also with a game in hand.

It's unlikely, but an Everton away win tonight would be very worrying for everyone else involved in the top 4 race.
Every season we all know that they'll "put up a good challenge", but we sort of expect them to fizzle out and finish a respectable 6th or so. But this season could be a different story. They're hanging in there.

Still, i think I'd rather see Everton win than Arsenal. Seeing the Goons go 4 point ahead of us, despite our game in hand... would be a big cause for concern. City is not really a "game in hand". <laugh>

So long as they won by no more than 1 goal and scored less than 4 I'd take an Everton win. Infact, I'd take it even if it meant us going 6th actually. Ultimately 3rd and 4th are the target so keeping ourselves as close to them is more important than dropping a place.
