Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we've had precisely 0 penalties the entire year, including, merely to mention the latest one, the non-call on a blatant shirt grab on Ade in the area against Everton.

I'm saying there's justification on the penalty decision, while most are complaining that most of those aren't called in other games.

While that might be true, I'd rather the game goes in the direction where the rules are the rules in any situation, and not leave it up to the discretion of the referees when not to give them.

He's probably right in saying that had the incident occurred at the other end of the pitch, it would never have been given...

I certainly agree that rules should be followed. The issue here is fairness, or the lack of it. I really don't know why you're trying to argue that this wasn't blatantly unfair, as you seem to be. I certainly would admit the point if the shoe was on the other foot.

My point is that decisions are not consistent and tend to favour certain clubs. The media either don't understand this or are too cosy in their basic belief that the "table doesn't lie". But we know that's rubbish, so when you get these "pundits" come on and say that over the season the final place is "deserved" it's total crap and really really winds me up. These things (as we know from last season) can be decided by one point, and if that point goes the wrong way because a mistake is made it's one point too many. I am feckin annoyed, partly because this is what I thought might happen!!! When Spurs get a poor decision go for us, and Arsenal go the whole season without a penalty, perhaps the Arsenal fans might understand.

Fair enough but I suspect you might feel differently if that had gone against you, plus Giroud had some of Kamara's shirt too.

I don't think any other lino in the league thinks he's in a position to make that penalty call regardless of who it went to. Jones should've shown more backbone and said he saw the situation and there was nothing in it.

If that we're the case on a consistent basis, I would agree. But, let's face it, it's far from that!..that's what irks people. To give a penalty, you must be pretty damn sure that you've got it right. How's that possible from 50 yds?

Which top table team has conceded more "soft" penalties than Arsenal in the last 2-3 seasons? We have been on the other end of this type of call quite a few times.

  11. The difference, again, between us and Arsenal is that they can score goals and we cannot (without Bale). They also seem to have a belief that they should be winning games, which we lack.

A group claimed it reanlyzed games with close decisions and awarded points based on what they should have been if rhe decisions were awarded fairly. I'm skeptical myself. Nevertheless, the final tally had Spurs in third with 75 points, Arsenal in fourth with 72 (and both with more points than they actually got last year.)

Like when? The penalties that I remember you getting were Cazorla's dive, the second with a foul on WBA player in the build up and Walcott's where he's backlift kicked Beausejour and went down getting a soft pen.

Hughton pointed out that the 3rd was offside too, I thought it was but edited my post as I wasn't sure. That lino again. To be fair to Colin ****er, Le Tissier said he was 60 yards away and Hughton said 50 too so either I have no concept of distance or overexaggerating it is the theme of the day :D

Apparently there's a bunch of Millwall fans planning to follow up the FA Cup semi final by going into central London and beating up any anti-Thatcher protesters - in other words, justifying Thatcher's opinion that all football fans are thugs and should be made to carry mandatory ID cards.

    ****ing morons...

True. But that's Millwall for you. They've been at it for 50 odd years now, so I doubt things will change anytime soon. They were smashing Mickey Purser's showroom windows when I was still at school..

If they want to smash something, why not smash that plastic lion somebody bought at Homebase that adorns one corner of their stadium?

It's easy to score goals when you are given penalties! This "belief" factor is bollox when it comes to certain clubs as it's easy to believe if the ref is on your side. They've had five penalties this season, we've had none, don't you think that has had some effect on the current league table?

Judging from the pictures on my TV screen, they're currently in the process of smashing up Wembley Stadium.
