They really should just be asking Salah to name his fee.

They're a cameo from Rory Delap away from being a modern-day Stoke.

    Terrible footballing side.

Their success relies on corners, free kicks, Raya hoofing it and constant niggling fouls.

    It's unbelievably tight from 5th to 13th.

If we lose tomorrow and Fulham win, we'll drop to 10th.

Either this is bitterness or you're not watching us play recently. Before the international break, I agree we weren't good. We've improved tenfold since then, though, and have outplayed every team we've come up against since. It's also not our problem if we've found a way to be dangerous from attacking corners and opposition teams aren't finding a way to stop us.

Your corners are brilliant but it's surprising that more teams don't follow your example.

Spursiness seems to have infected the Copa del Rey, as both Alejo Veliz and Bryan Gil's sides were knocked out by fourth-tier sides

At least in Gil's case he can say he was rested...

I think that's possibly down to quality of personnel to be honest, as well as opting to often use 4 CBs in a back 4 instead of modern FBs on the flanks. They've got a very impressive selection of CBs; Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Timber and White would start for most teams in the league, so often using 4 of them in an XI means they may have sacrificed some style but certainly added a load of substance.

Rice's dead ball accuracy and whip is something that's taken me by surprise though, never knew he had that in his locker until recently. Add him to Saka and Odegaard who are sound technical players and they've got the perfect mix of players who can knock in dangerous high balls and usually an extra number of players who are aerially dangerous.

But DH a proffesional footballer ought to be able to deliver a ball from a corner to arrive under the crossbar. So many times we see balls short or too low to clear the defenders. If you put a ball there for sure the goalie will catch it some of the time but if he doesen't chaos can easily arrive and chaos causes goals. If you look at United with Maguire or Liverpool with Van Dijk, you perhaps just need one or two and we have that with VDV and Romero or even Dragusin but we need to put the ball where they have a chance.

You say that but this should be the exact same principle as a free kick. We know it doesn't happen loads so its definitely a hard skill

I would maintain it's easier to place a ball from a corner because the target is just in front of the goal that's 24feet of wriggle room. A free kick can involve much more accuracy, having to often find a player or a small part of a goal.

But to meet your previous criteria it needs to be 8 to 9 ft high when it passes the near post. Any lower and it's an easy header away; any higher and it will sail over everyone. That's very little margin for error over 60 yards.

Well I could do it, so it can't be that difficult. OR! is the modern football more difficult to control than the old leather lump?
