I think that Maddison has the rarer set of skills.

Whose idea was it to have players either side of the goalie as he took a goal kick? ....and taking a corner outside of the "corner spot!"? Sorry I'm from the old school and hate the modern game....you know, sideways, backwards, sideways, backwards.I can remember Ted Ditchburn spitting on his bare hands now we have goalies wearing wicket keepers gloves etc.

Looks like Liverpool have jumped ahead of Newcastle for Dominik Szoboszlai.
Glad they waited until after we'd signed Maddison! <laugh>

Let's see how long the Villa & Saudi love-in continues, given Villa are outperforming their new best friends in the transfer market so far

I assume that the Poool regard Spurs as
"kindred spirits" in the war against PL Sugga Daddy FCs.

Can't remember the last time I saw a goalie wearing a flat cap. I suppose it's all baseball caps now. We slavishly follow the US in everything when there are far better examples in Europe.

What else have we missed , players arriving on public transport, boots with nailed on studs, goal keepers in knitted roll neck jumpers and cardboard FA cups covered in silver foil for a start

FA Cup draw on the radio, half time scores on the boards pitch side at half time , being able to turn up to a game without tickets , slipping the bloke on the turnstile a few bob and bunking in , buying a programme without a mortgage, percy Dalton peanut man at the lane ......

Toilet rolls and bus ticket machine rolls thrown onto the pitch when a goal is scored , cold sponge carried onto the pitch in a split football bladder , goal time tickets , Saturday evening news papers thrown out of a moving van with that afternoon's results, hotdogs onions and burgers all cooked in the same Luke warm water given taste with a sqeeze of watered down tomato ketchup

I wonder how many remember the Spurs band walking round the pitch with the leader throwing up that wooden thing ( sorry,it's been a long time!) and us waiting for him to drop it. Sometimes he did. .....Cecil Poynton running onto the field with the rubber bladder containing water to fix the players injuries, which, incredibly revived them.Today they have everything except an ambulance to revive a dead player!!!!

I loved that band. As a little girl back in the '40s watching them march round the ground with the lady soloist often putting in an appearance was wonderful! I probably enjoyed them more than the footie at that young age!
