The Biraghi fella has had a mare. Got his head cut open, gave away a pen and pretty sure it was him that kept Bowen on side. He’s gonna need a holiday after this, lol.
All day long. Naturally would’ve rather West Ham lost but fair play to Moyeseh. Been in the game a while and this is his first proper trophy, can tell it means the world to him. I hate watching certain teams and their managers win a trophy and just seemingly give a little fist pump like it’s no big deal. Similar to when Redknapp won the FA cup with Pompey, it’s years of hard work at multiple clubs paying off in that moment.
Apparently finishing 15th and winning a third-tier European competition that’s barely been in existence for two years means West Ham had a better season than Arsenal. I can’t be bothered with football Twitter, feels like it’s being overran by 16/17 year olds or professional WUMs.
Only winning trophies counts though.... Does mean that West Ham are ahead of Arsenal in total UEFA trophies won though which is a staggering statistic.
It’s pretty well documented that Arsenal’s European record is disgraceful, especially in comparison to our domestic success. Chalk and cheese. West Ham have had a more successful season than ours, but they’ve not had the better season (if that makes sense). It’s their first trophy in 43 years, so obviously I can understand why they wouldn’t swap their season for ours. But fans of other teams reaffirming it (unless it’s for the sole purpose of winding Arsenal fans up) is just nonsensical. We’re going to be in the Champions League next season, whereas they will be in the Europa. It’s a total non-argument. Narratives, ey?
Whilst Brighton will adequately replace him for about £4.2m, £35m for Mac Allister seems a really decent deal for Pool, good player and I think he’ll slot in well with Klopp’s style.
