I think everyone hopes for that dream striker.Chelsea think Ba is that person. He may be or like Torres be a disaster, but the juries out for a season or two.
Watching MOTD, Fulham v Utd and to see.Rooney & RVP making top class DEFENSIVE tackles and clearances, shows how much Fergie demands from his players and how great their team spirit is, which is why they will be champions this year. Also, anyone else impressed with Bryan Ruiz of Fulham? he has a fab technique and gluides with the ball.......great with free kicks too
District, there's going to the right team and going to the wrong team. EVERYBODY outside of Chelsea knew that Torres would flop because he went to the wrong team. There was even a poster with Torrestoflop as a username and he was a Chelsea supporter. I'm not sure Ba has gone to the right team for him. I felt the same about Modric to Real and still think it a little about AVB to Spurs. Let's see.
...so WAS Torres...so was Shevchenko AND Crespo in Serie A. It just doesn't follow unless you play the same way that suits the striker, I'm afraid your Russian goat-herder at heart, came into this game knowing **** all, and ten years later is no better off!
Chelsea saw other clubs were interested in Ba, so signed him. You can copy and paste the names of several players into that one - Cahill, Sidwell, Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Marin et al. Come to think of it, you can do the exact same thing with Man City these days...
We were interested in Hazard long before most other teams were, the conditions of him joining us were dependent on us qualifying for the CL
Wenger's "I could have signed..." team is quite substantial though, Croydon. Makes you wonder why he went after Santos and Squillaci, really.
Chrissy1893 on Twitter: "Fine, go ahead and call Gareth Bale world class. Check the stats, and then stop criticising Theo Walcott. More likely world class than Bale." I do love the BBC live text, it brings the nutters out.
I noted that comment, too. The fact that the headless Walnut isn't fit to lace the Welsh Wizard's boots appears to have been missed by this particular idiot Goon.
I was called away today so missed the action. When I could look at the web on my phone we had won 0-1 and City were leading 1-0. I thought that's how it would end so it was 10 points behind City and 10 points ahead of Pool. Then it ended in a draw so we are 8 points behind City and 9 points ahead of Pool. Now I don't know which of those two scenarios is the better of the two. Now,if we can beat Newcastle who are on fire a bit at the moment I feel we can go on to win a lot more and City are ours for the taking,so too Everton. The derbies I'm not sure about. Like I posted to Chelsea,Newcastle will be one tough son of a bitch so they will be for us too. I'm not going to mourn the loss of another striker because Defoe's been ineffective recently and won't use it as an excuse because if we can get the winning momentum going then any player can score. However we win next week I don't care but I feel it to be a pivotal match.
Coco the clown #2.Mancini that is.Thinks City have a chance to catch United. No chance brother!United have the luck and their one goal wins 'ain't going to stop.....it seems. But I am looking forward to their trip to the Lane......and Lazio come to that. Perhaps our luck will change in our remaining cup competition?
bigsmithy,I hope our luck doesn't change because we've been lucky recently. I hope it stays the same.
Thor. You may be right and I'm scared if I say something our luck may change,as it has in the two previous cup competitions. But then our performances in those cups was disgraceful!
I have a slight twinge that AVB might be more successful in Europe than in the home cups but I'm not betting on it. Good win today though. I'm hoping that this is the catalyst for a winning streak. Coming out of a run of draws with a win is much better than a loss so here's hoping.
