I reckon Don Carlo’s decision to leave Everton has been slightly vindicated. Won La Liga and in the CL final… not bad, not bad.
A disgraceful refereeing display in Madrid tonight, so many bad decisions and others not given, with most of them going Madrid`s way. They even gave just 3 minutes of stoppage time when there was at least 8 minutes of stoppages / time wasting. Real Madrid won`t get that much help against Varpool that`s for sure.
Both Liverpool and Madrid have that inevitability about them as teams. It’s almost an aura. City are a very good team but you always feel they have a loss in them. Gonna be a huge final.
Injuries could happen and he will be named on the bench, comes off it and scores the winner. I’m dreaming but what a way to leave that would be
Ancelotti was Everton manager less than a year ago , Marco Silva's Fulham could be swapping places with Everton , it's a funny old game
This is why "spursy" is not a thing, or if it is, it is a really unfair label because most certainly not restricted to Spurs. Because Citeh have done one of the most "spursy" things in football... again. You could also argue that given the comparative spending, Citeh should actually be winning *more* than they do, and by not doing so they have failed. So perhaps they are more spursy than Spurs?
Thinking that Spursy is unfair is to miss the point in my eyes. Spurs have been Spursy ever since the 60's When we were winning the double and becoming the first English club to win a European trophy we were Super Spurs. Since those times we have been on the edge of greatness a number of times and we have had brief moments in the sun in the FA Cup but most of the time we have been a top team on the edge looking in. Look at the history and you will see a number of teams who were great in the past. Everton, Burnley, Aston Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle, Huddersfield, Preston North End. Many of those teams surpass Spurs in the number of titles but none of them have remained as close as Spurs to winning again. We are often there or thereabouts but so far in modern times we have fallen at the last many times. To be Spursy is to disappoint , yes but we are only disappointed because we still get near. We can be proud of just being in contention for such a long time and not fading away like so many other once great clubs have. Nobody is as good at being Spursy as Spurs, City don't even come close.
Not really much worse than many refs in England. The difference was that the ‘experts’ were highlighting it constantly because it was affecting one of their favorite teams. Unfortunately I was watching the match with a number of other English people with an English commentary and I thought that Macmannaman was going to explode. For the final I will watch with a commentary in Spanish or Italian. Obviously I hope Los Ladrones win.
The label implies that (in)action by Spurs is the cause. 1. Lasagna-gate Were any clubs at that time operating a real time bacterial test result regime for any food going to be eaten by a player ?? 2. CL 2012 Some of us put this solely down to Arry (some blame Levy) . This scenario became reality because Spurs in their second third of the season collapse into relegation form did not draw at least one more game. So what other major season detrimental outcomes for Spurs akin to the above have occurred ?? In my Spurs living memory (mid 70s to now) I cannot recall anything.
